One day offer only :-)

i have a large (58) one of these that i took out of the box and then decided i would be better off training to get for for mtb by using my mtb on the road.
its not made up yet or even unpacked. im not looking to make a profit and i paid £400.
i dont usually like to sell my stuff but im pretty sure i wont use it, but if i nobody says they want it i`ll just keep it.

collection from either Stansted near the airport or tottenham in daytimes:-)
please e mail for payment details

Lester, I may have a mate who would be interested, and he lives 5 mins from you.

Just dropping him a line now....

Speculator or genuinely "took a chance" and it's too big? Who knows.

But this... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VENTURA-CP50-BRAND-NEW-F...

...55cm frame, unused, and complete with a turbo trainer, has been relisted with a starting bid of £500. No bids were placed the first time it went up, at the same starting price.

If the "it's too big" tale of woe is true, then, at 5ft6in tall, it's likely to be too big for me too, so it's probably for the best that I missed the opportunity to buy at the lowest price. The manufacturer makes two smaller frame sizes. It's just a shame that I cannot find a retailer with them for sale, as I may have a complete Ultegra 6700 group to swap onto the 'right' bike, one that actually fits me.

Mate of mine at work bought one off the strength of this thread (and me mentioning it) and he's incredibly chuffed.

I've just looked over it and I have to say I'd be very happy with one if I'd paid £400.

I emailed the guy on eBay above offering 425 for just the bike within a day of him listing it, but got a semi literate blunt response, suggesting he'd already received higher offers so thanks but no thanks. And I also noted no bids and a relist. Meh.

I hate this sort of thing, like ticket touts this guy is trying to make a few £££ with minimal work denying people that really wanted one, I really hope it doesn’t sell. If it was the case of “too big” why not just get your money back.

I’ve got one in a box that I’ll be building for the GF this week, if it turns out to be too big for her it will be going on ebay (or here if anyone wants one) for £405 + p&p to cover costs. If I get more the great but not looking for profit.

5'5" here and my bikes range from 50cm - 51.5cm seat tube so I'd echo the "likely far too big".

Yes, true, but that's a C-C measurement of BB to top tube isn't it?

I think Argos's measurements were centre of BB to top of seat tube, which adds at least an inch. Can one of the owners (of each size) confirm what the actual C-C seat tube and effective top tube measurements are?

The 55 is LARGE as I've said before. I'm 5'11 with a 90mm stem and saddle forward.
6cm saddle drop to top of bars with 1 spacer removed. See pic of mine further up the page.
I can't see it properly fitting anyone much under my height tbh.

BB centre to centre top tube where it meets seat tube is 49cm

BB centre to top of seat tube (top of seatpost collar) is 55cm

ETT is level line centre of headtube to centre of seatpost. 57.5cm

BB centre up to that line on the seatpost is 58.5cm

If this is slightly too big for anyone, I've got a lovely 3T ARX-TEAM 90mm stem for sale...

Lester,

I live near Bishops Stratford and would be interested in the bike if it is still available. I could pick it up tonight if that suits?

Cheers,
Ben

Two more have appeared on eBay, first guy obviously bought 2 hoping to make a few quid

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ventura-CP50-Carbon-Pro-...

Second guy claims to have had the bike 18 months though it looks pretty new in the picture
