I can see the 'Show us your Bike Thread' looking a tad repetitive soonest. biggrin

A cracking deal though.

Fair enough, worth a try.
Just need to find someone who works for Sainsburys with staff discount then!
Why Sainsbury's?? I know someone that gets 15%. Might be worth a punt at that!!

Homebase used to be part of Sainsburys. Not sure if it still is though.

Sold to Home Retail (in 2002 IIRC) who used to be GUS but are now just Argos & Homebase.
Market rumours they are going to spin off Homebase though.

Definitely worth a go nothing to lose - there are still some loose ties I think - they both use Nectar for example.

I just saved a fortune, buying a bike I didn't need!
Thanks for the heads-up

That's about 6 sold off here.

shouldbworking, let us know when it arrives. Pics!

Anyone found the same frame elsewhere yet? It's got external downtube cabling like the PX Pro Carbon and similar looking geo but the fork is different and seat stays look thicker.

Does anyone know what the actual size for inside leg this suits yet? I've been fancying a road bike for a while and this looks like just the thing to crossover from my mountain bike

If you're around 6' tall a 58 will suit you just fine.

Well just reserved one myself, to be honest I puff into work on my hybrid and at that type of price will be nice to mix it up some days.

I was thinking this, I've been contemplating a road bike for a while now and this seems a perfect first bike but not sure what size I'd go for. I'm 6'1", 31" inside leg - I have a M mountain bike frame which is slightly on the small side but I prefer that as I can throw it around more, not sure I'll be throwing this one round quite as much...

Well I've reserved one anyway, worth a gamble as a winter hack for £400 (plus I used to work at Argos so will have a friendly word with my old colleagues and see if I can get some discount..)!

Looking on the Homebase website it doesn't say what size the frame is, but does say suitable for '(24 29 inch) inside leg measurements'. Mine is 30" so will not be purchasing. frown

tempted to buy one and put my Campag xenon on, with Fulcrcum 5 wheels , would be a nice all round bike then.

Think the medium will be a touch too big tho and worry the sizeing might be "odd"

From yellowjack's research yesterday I reckon this is about right, gonna take a chance on the smaller one at 5'11 though as 58cm WILL be too big.

Hello Woodsy and thanks for your query,

I can confirm that the Ventura CP50 700c Pro Road Bike - Unisex's 55cm frame size means that it is suitable for an inside leg measurement of 30-33 inches (someone who is roughly 5'8"-5'10" in height).

The 58cm frame size (Catalogue Number 332/4525) is suitable for inside leg measurements of 32 - 34 inches, which is someone who is roughly 5'11" - 6'2".

My apologies for any confusion caused and I hope this helps. Thank you for using Argos Q&A.

I think the below is more accurate than what's on the description to be honest.

Homebase list 2 EANs ... 3324518 and 3324525. Now you could guess which is which, but I've emailed them to find out.

They are the same EAN numbers as Argos which means:

3324518 - 55cm
3324525 - 58cm

Hope that helps. Homebase you have to pay £3.95 delivery I believe where as Argos is free delivery or collect in store.
