I've entered....but I don't hold out much hope of getting a place, seeing as:

1/ I haven't done any of the Sportives mentioned, although I ride 250+ km/week
2/ I haven't done London-Paris, nor London-Brighton, although I have done (and in fact organised) a London-De Haag charity ride
3/ Haven't picked any of their listed charities, although I will be raising money for a couple of charities close to our hearts.
4/ Only have a "Ride" BC Membership, not a "Race" BC Membership.

Never mind.... fingers crossed!

Same for me, haven't done any of the sportives or ridden the London to Paris(which what all my non cycling friends seems to think is the pinnacle of cycle riding). No point in trying to get sponsored as my mates will say you do 100miles a few times a year what's the big deal?

Just put in mine but I doubt I'll get in, and my BC number is longer than the box allows to be entered. Anyone know when do they ask for payment?

Fingers crossed. Anyway the training will get me fitter and now I have to train as if I'm going until I hear otherwise.

Also entered, fingers crossed.

Failing that will do it for charity again.

I've entered as well. I'm not really that bothered about getting in or not ... would prefer to do Etape or La Marmotte next year!

Entered again, hopefully get a ride.

Though I do wonder whether they purposefully do not want to let in higher category racers as I've not had any luck, and I don't know of many others in my category that have done it.

Do they actually favour people who have done a few specific listed sportives? Daft if they do.

Take the no 1 on their list - the Wiggle Cheshire Cat. I'd never enter this, because not only are they roads local that I ride every time, but the route is cack anyway. OK there is 1 flagship hill, but the majority is pointlessly flat. However, they take the Cat as if it's "better" than the Wiggle Northern Angel, which was a decent challenge - nearly as long and 3 times as hilly. Oh, and if you did the "baby" version of the Cat, you'd still be able to tick the box?

I can imagine that it'd be impossible to list every sportive, or even have 1 from every organiser - but no Fred Whitton? No Coast to Coast? No generic "100k+ Audax" box?

Anyways, I've entered - but I'm not holding my breath.

Seems a lot for a bike ride that gets all the hills cut out if it rains. hehe

My club got a team place last year, does KW not get one? 4 places IIRC

Due to uncertainty over where I'll be at this time next year I've entered from my folks' place in Cheshire. Have had two rejections while applying from London, maybe applying from out of town will have an impact.

I had done none-of-the-above they asked about last year and got a place, not sure it makes "much" difference, I wondered if it was more to do with start place streaming... but then I rode it last week and see they did very little of that as many wannabe pros where right at the back- so go figure.

Put my name in, maybe it will be dry next year :-)

20,709 finished it this year from 24,000 entrants, no idea how many of those were deferrals or DNFs though so there could be a fair few places already taken frown

Anyway, good luck to all of you who enter, I'll have some Paberellos in stock by then too!... wink
