lol.

No point entering a team if they're not all similar standard. Think I could find a couple but they wouldn't be keen for this sort of thing really.

Look, if you're not interested in the ride, either because you're far too good to do a mere hundred miles over some not-terribly-huge hills, because you're convinced you wouldn't get a place from some curious (and almost certainly spurious) idea that the ballot is rigged, because you don't want to spend £58 to ride on "roads you can ride at any other time", because Prudential ate your dog, because it'll be too busy with 30,000 people, or anything else, that's fine. I respect your opinion.

But I'd prefer it if you expressed it somewhere else.

I should have said.

The Team entry is effectively 4 individual entries.

Out of our 4 this year two had to drop out, and the remaining two of us saw each other at the start, then at the finish...

Quiet down ffs.

I've entered every year, I am interested. Not in a team though, for reasons I mention.

I hadn't done any sportives and put in a woefully slow estimated time but still got a place for 2014.

Perhaps they want all sorts.

Thats a bonus for me, listed no sportives and an estimated time of 6.5 hours, with BC ride membership.

Guess we'll see now.

I don't understand this either. Does anyone seriously think that the organisers will go through the entries one by one and say "Well he's Cat1 and this other chap isn't a British Cycling member so they won't get a place"?

I don't know, there is no reason there couldn't be isn't a filter on it that takes a score of people based on their answers to the various fields and produces an auto yes/no ? Who knows. Maybe just bad luck.

If they wanted to be inclusive they could 'score' everybody's entries and then allocate an amount of places to each score bracket. That would be easy enough but in all reality the results wouldn't be much different (with 25,000 entries) to just doing a random draw.

I can't see them deliberately excluding some types of rider. Looking at the numbers, the most likely individual outcome from applying for both of the previous Ride100's is that you didn't get a place in either. There will be some that got lucky and managed to get a place in both (and probably more vocal about their happiness at this result). It's just probabilities.

I assumed all the questions were just some kind of data gathering for advertising or some other sinister purpose. hehe

I've entered. I tried to donate the entry fee for the jersey and the option to enter a second ballot, but it kept crashing out and saying I had to contact the event organizer. I spoke to someone and they said to try using all lower case for the card name and that didn't work either.

I've done the L2B and the Wiggle New Forest Sportive, so fingers crossed I get a space. However, I'm not a member of a cycling club or British Cycling.

Jesus. no pleasing some people. If I'd entered Trott even once (never mind 2 years), I'd still be grinning about it.

Let's see if they hope to boost tourism to London by accepting my Overseas entry.

85GBP and flying 6000 miles, to 'ride on roads I could otherwise ride on for free' and all that... blabla
