Just wandering if there are any S/East ish PHers up for a ride at all? None of my mates are into cycling (apart from a couple who live in Wales) so I'm more than often out on my todd which I don't mind on the road but off-road, especially when trying to explore new trails, isn't always ideal.
Soo - any not too fit, coming up to 40ish, PHers round these parts up for a spin one Saturday? Epping Forest or Thetford maybe? Or poss Chicksands?

We tried to organise something in Epping Forest a while back, never got it sorted biggrin

I'm in Kent, there's Bedgebury forest. I'd happily meet up, especially on Tuesdays as I have a day off in the week and usually no one is about who I ride with.

I'm in kent and would be happy to go trundling around bedgebury some time.

I'm probably not quite your target audience though being in reasonable shape (for now)

Sounds like theres some interest then :: with Epping being in the lead by 1 vote...

It'd be good to try and organise something before the forest gets too wet and mushy once again....

I'm riding a bit of the SDW (quarter I suppose) Sat, 2.30 at Devils Dyke pub car park, to Eastbourne, if anyone is about. Should take about 3hrs @ moderate pace. Beer at the end and Trains back to Brighton every 30mins I believe. PH shirt mk1.

If anyone fancies heading to the Surrey Hills at some point, I'd be happy to meet up - 44yr old fat knacker here!

Obviously it's not the Cairngorms, so you'd just have to slum it down stuff like this and this.

Not my videos, btw, and I listened to them on mute, so I don't know if they've got a blaring soundtrack if you happen to be in the office. smile

I'm going to have a bash at Swinley (Red Trail) in the next week or so. I have to try something different, in order to break my current obsession with the army training area behind Minley Manor. I rode Red at Swinley a coupe of times last year, but I've not been back since I bought my Garmin, so it'l be interesting to see how I fair on the Strava segments there.

I can make it to Surrey Hills too, other commitments not withstanding. Anything Kent/Sussex or Essex/Herts is going to be a bit too far around the '25 for me to want to travel, being honest. The less travelling and more riding in a trip the better wink

bugeye (martin) who i think is a member on here, regularly runs rides from epping on sundays at ten am from bury road car park

if you look at (or join for free)herts and essex mtb you will find a section which tells you when and where people are meeting up for rides, a lot of the members are pistonheaders
