Adventure Cross
Discussion
I'm seriously starting to enjoy cross. Jumping on and off road, gravel tracks etc...brilliant.
Anyway, I have been advised there are such things as Adventure Cross Sportives. Now I'm not one for "sportives" as such, but I could be swayed by one of these type of events. I'm in Hampshire, and would be interested in anything locally if anyone can point me in the right direction? I've googled but not finding much.

I like the idea too but using the old rigid cinder cone I stole off a friend, annoyingly the events are all up north!

I thought I had seen one near Salisbury, lets hope they do it again as I will be up for it this time: http://www.cxsportive.com/events/salisbury-cx-nov-...Anyway, I have been advised there are such things as Adventure Cross Sportives. Not thought about doing a bit of CX racing? Supposed to be great fun, and there is a local league run in Hampshire. I'm contemplating a cross bike and seeing events like the ones you've listed is certainly increasing the appeal, along with a bit of racing.
I have, and am a member of the Wessex League, but they are short sharp blasts (45mins), and I'd rather adventure for 3/4 hourshttp://www.ukcyclingevents.co.uk/events/wiggle-wig...
thinking about signing up to this. could be fun!

I am also in this and seriously thinking I must have been on some sort of Class A drugs when I signed up.
Saw that, although have ridden it quite a few times in a day on the MTB, wanted to try something different, although will probably give it a go once it dries up, and I get some more hardy tyres! There is one coming up in March at Haldon near Exeter for anybody down this way:
