Not sure if its just me & my local sorting / delivery methods. But CRC used to be amazing at getting the free delivered items next day - always always. Now you pay for 24 hours shipping and its taking 2 days and their free service 4-5..

Are they going downhill or just shonky local mail service?

Biggest issue I;ve found with CRC is that you pay for next day delivery (item is in stock), but it takes 2-3days for them to ship the item, but it is shipped next day.

If its free delivery, there isn't much you can do about how long it takes to get to you. I recently ordered some wheels, brakes and pedals from CRC. Ordered them on Friday and they shipped yesterday. According to the text message I got, they should arrive tomorrow.

I'm fine with that as I ticked the free delivery option smile

I used to always pay for delivery, so I could get things quickly. Now, I never bother. I just have to make sure that I order things in plenty of time, especially if I need the items for a certain event.

I suffered from this when I wasn't organised enough and had to order at short notice. Needless to say my next day delivery didn't arrive the next day. When I discussed with them they pointed me in the direction of the T&Cs which do state you have to order by a certain time for the next day delivery to be effective (I recall 1pm but am not 100% sure now). At that time there was nothing on the checkout screen to tell you you had missed that window if you were ordering later than the cut-off and would now be on the next day of next day delivery.

They were considering trying to get something on screen to give you this info at time of ordering but I don't know if they have managed this yet.

For free delivery I have found their delivery OK but not as good as Wiggle but at least as good as if not better than SJS Cycles. If it's free delivery then 3-04 days is fine with me. Anything quicker will inevitably go back into the product price.

Evans are bad at this too. In stock item ordered on 15/9 not dispatched until 19/9. Why?

I had this same crap from them. After they responded to replied telling them it wasn't good enough and not stated in any way at all at the checkout that this is the case, I ended up with a credit for the shipping. But 1pm is a very early cut-off for next day IMO, I think I ordered about 2PM.

Perhaps they don't physically keep stock and it arrives from their suppliers once an order has been placed? Anyhow, still a PITA!

Perhaps I didn't push hard enough as I met a stone wall when asking for a refund of the shipping charge frown CRC were simply not interested. I've voted with my wallet and just use Wiggle and SJS Cycles now. I've not found anything I can't get from these two suppliers at a similar price / availability.

Remember the items are coming from Ireland so 1pm probably is about right for next day delivery.

I buy most of my stuff from Wiggle, but on this occasion, I went for CRC as they had the best prices.

However, the parcel force web site just crashes when I enter my tracking number.

Like all boys with toys, I'm impatient and want to get my hands on my wheels, pedals and brakes! OK, I haven't got a bike to bolt them to yet, but thats not the point biggrin

I'm surprised at this. I ordered from CRC recently on a Friday afternoon and it was delivered on Sat morning. Since then, I've targeted CRC in the belief they get it to you quickly and I've not been disappointed. I always select the free delivery option.

Same here, I've had nothing to complain about.

Been using them since before the Interwebs. Its like they've become sloppy lately. Or are let down by rm/pf.

I've had mixed experiences recently.

Ordered from them a few weeks ago and took a week to arrive. Ordered something else this week and arrived next day. Both times with the free delivery option.

The one that took a week was allegedly dispatched same day with a tracking number - so I'm tempted to blame PF.

I've found their returns service with the option to drop stuff off at the local newsagent very useful (due to me ordering the wrong stuff, no fault of CRC)

The collect+ system is fine until you get a big box and the post offices/petrol station people get a bit arsey.

My recent CRC order was a split shipment, which I was never told about and I'm a bit annoyed about, as CRC have provided no tracking info for the second shipment.

Also, I got a text message at 6pm last night saying my wheels were going to be delivered in the next 90 minutes. They were actually delivered about 6 hours before that message! I've never thought Parcel Force were any good.

I only noticed their 365 day return recently, and I've brought forward a plan to buy a new frame so the 26" rims I bought last Nov and this Jan (yes 2 orders) I wish to return. I 'phoned them a couple of days ago and they were VERY helpful, even finding the number of the first order as I had no record of it. If the rims go back via Collect+ ok, and I get refunded I shall be absolutely delighted.
I've always found their service very good.
