I could easily live with only Santa Cruz bikes, even though I've never owned one. I'd be happy with Intense too.
Same here, not yet owned one but i'd be plenty happy with:

1) A Chameleon - set up for pub/canal path/road riding , 27spd + semi slicks
2) A Jackal - for abusing on skate parks /bike parks
3) A Heckler or Nomad - small frame, single chainring 6inch travel either end for AM/mild downhill
4) A Blur - all round cross country/general off roading

As it stands I've never been that brand loyal when it comes to bikes, i've always bought the best most suitable bike at my price point and ended up with a selection of GTs, Konas, a DDG, Haros and all sorts over the years.

Oh an it could just be due to my lack of interest but a lot of the racer bikes posted on the previous page look utterly hideous to me.

Nope, I like to have an ecclectic mix of machines for playing on.

I struggle to see past Whyte tbh. Got 2012 & 2013 801's along with a 2014 T129 Works. All 3 ride well and the 2 801's (the older ones a bit of a hybrid) have done some serious miles and taken a serious amount off abuse. The 129 I just cant fault and replaced a Yeti ACR that I hated.

Currently thinking about a 650b and theres a likely hood that something from the Whyte stable will be on the list, although I do fancy a Santa Cruz
Also like the Whytes. Have a Montpellier for the tarmac and a 729 for the woods and love them both.

Had the Montpellier for a couple of years and have covered a load of miles and love it. The 29er is a new addition and I'm still getting used to off roading. Seems a great bike too though.

When I bought my Portobello, the Montpellier was 3 or 4 grand. Now that its about 1500 quid I think its a bargain. I wish I was buying my road bike all over again because that'd be my choice.

I have:

Two Wiliers - a La Triestina and a Cento 1 SR custom bulid
a Whyte 19 Steel MTB
a 1998 Marin Bear Valley SE
and soon to have a Genesis Flyer biggrin

Apart from the top two I quite like steel.

Also nestling in the garage is a rather nice Genesis Volare Team (Reynolds 953 Stainless Steel), a Specialised S-Works Tarmac SL4, and a Whyte 905 MTB, although these are my son's bikes
