I'm adding cycling to Outer Space to mine. 100,000m climbing = the Karman Line.

1). Get down to 75 kilos. (Currently 85 kg)

2). Get at least 3000 miles for the year - small fry for some on here, but a step in the right direction for me - hopefully will do more.

3). Am signed up to the RideLondon, so the century will take care of itself - however, am at a level of fitness now, that means I want to do it in a good time as well as just finishing.
2.5 months in, and some target revision needs applying.

1). Done. Next up is 15% body fat. Currently at circa 20%

2). Already sufficiently ahead of target that needs revising up to 4,000 to keep it interesting.

3). Done a solo century already this year (only at about 15 mph though). Maybe an average of 16-17mph would be a good target for ridelondon...though I understand it gets a bit crowded...

Should be no problem that.

I'm a bit ahead of target (thank you Strava climbing challenges) at nearly 1/3 of the way to space woohoo

My event 'season' next year is confined to a just over a week in June (Tour of Cambridgeshire followed by Velothon Wales) thanks to a total of seven weddings next year (including my own), so my goals are a little less specific this year:

1. Stick to a structured, power based training programme
2. 3000 miles (at 2200 in 2014)
3. Drop to 69.something kg
4. Give TTing a go
5. Get over my preconceptions at give a local club or two a chance
6. Ad hoc sportives throughout the year - aim for 10?
3 months in:
1. I'd give myself a B+ on this so far. February was tricky with work/life but back on it now
2. 350mi so far but more training shifting outdoors with the weather/light
3. Nowhere close. Still at 74kg (which is where I started) but feeling good for leaning out
4. Two pencilled in for April (one clubman, one closed circuit)
5. Those preconceptions keep getting stronger...
6. None!
7.

I'm below my target, but always expected that I'd do the majoritiy of my milage in the spring and summer anyway, so not worried about it yet.

I met all my early season goals which was pleasing, 3 events, one win, two second places, one course record smile

First road race of the year ended in a puncture annoyingly, was going well till then.

My goals were -
1) Everesting in June. Gulp! Done! 28 hours, 230 miles, 67 repeats of Boxhill, with 11 others. Still recovering.
2) New bike, shortlist of about 20, ride some, choose a favourite, persuade work to do,another CTW scheme at the right shop, get bike. Done, Giant Propel, loving it. Everested on it, comfort acceptable.
3) Legs of Steel in 3.10. Tried last two years and been close. Now I'm 50 I get 15 mins more for Gold but want to do it in original time. Hoping 1 and 2 will help with this, and another 4 months working on 3 hr speed.
4) Dartmoor Classic in a good time, not sure yet what that would be. Next weekend, gold is 6hrs 45 I think.
5) 5k+ miles again, would be 3rd year in a row. On target, just.

Bust my wrist at the end of Jan, so lots of things up in the air. Wasn't totally off the bike for 6 weeks but it felt like it. Fitness surprisingly good, rode to Boxhill and wasn't a huge amount off a pb. It's given me time to sort the bike, new Propel coming my way next month. Should help me get back on track with a lot of my other goals!

Bumping this, as we're nearly half way through 2015...

I stated no goals for mileage or elevation at the beginning of the year, but I've looked at my Strava profile page, and my stats so far are...

Distance - 2,045.1 mi
Time - 155h 26m
Elev Gain - 102,408 ft
Rides - 72

...for the first time since joining Strava at the end of 2012, I'm over the 2,000 mile point already, and with half the year still to come. Elevation figure is better than the annual total for both 2013 and 2014 too.

I'd started the year quietly hoping to break the 2,000 mile barrier by the end of the year. Then I got a new bike and thought I'd up that to 2,500 miles for the year. Now, though, it looks like 4,000 miles and 200,000ft of climbing will be achievable. Next week should see my mileage just on my new road bike exceed 1,500 miles since mid March.

Life currently feels good, and getting the bike out to ride is never a chore. It always puts a smile on my face.

I'm about 100km short of half my goal, but that should be doable before the end of the month.

Learn to ride all the big stuff at Woburn sands - without getting horribly injured.
Saw the thread pop back up so thought I would update with progress.

I've done two short sessions at Woburn this year. First one saw me split my elbow open, which then got septic bursitis and swelled up like a massive grapefruit. So less successful on the injury avoidance front.

I went back down yesterday and managed to string the M7 line together including the big double/gap at the bottom of the line.
I also plucked up the courage to hit the road gap, which with a 7ft drop and a 20+ foot gap was pretty cool.

Just a couple more of the big (30ft) doubles to cross off - but feel I'm on target for getting it all done well before the year end.

Probably somewhere on target mileage wise at 2,815 miles but focusing more on more high intensive efforts for racing rather than just distance rides this year. Moved up to 3rd Cat last month after a few races in April/May which was my goal by the end of the season. Next goal is to get some 3rd cat points!

Well up smile 75% of 100km vertical so far. I could revise that to 100miles, if not then next year.

Weight target, not quite 70kg, not that fussed.

I was targetting 10,000km and 100,000m of climbing. Mid-June and I'm at 4,600km and 43,500m so broadly on track but I have the benefit of the Tour de PH behind me and a month of travel and weddings ahead of me.

Mid-year revisions are to work on climbing ability and to add more interval work instead of too much endurance stuff. I'd love to get into racing but time is going to be tricky this year. Hopefully I'll find a club before the year is out and aim to try racing properly for 2016.

Mine was far more modest than some of you who must be spinning circles in your sleep! I'd like to do my first 100. No great shakes really, and to average 100 a week for the remained of the year. I've got my first 75 mid august and then hopefully the 100 before the end of August. For some reason, the 100 makes me feel very nervous.

Its just a number ... but it does carry a huge sense of achievement the first time. When you can do 60, you can do 100!! wink

Mine were as quoted below:

"My goals are to comfortably exceed 3,000kms and 40,000m of climbing off-road.
Learn to ride a road bike
Take part in a 110 mile sportive in June(Rugby Federation Bath-Bristol-Gloucester)
And as a consequence:

Buy a road bike - Collecting a Giant Defy tomorrow
Shed about 6kgs"

Mixed results to date:

Off-road: 725kms, 8,200m of climbing
Learn to ride a road bike - check
Take part in a 110 mile sportive in June - check, completed yesterday 187km, 1,800m of climb all completed in 7.5hrs (average speed 25.1km/hr)
Shed about 6kgs - almost, 3kgs to date.

But the big one is total distance this year to date is 3,675kms with 34,230m of climbing in 68 rides.

It'll be interesting to see if I maintain ~100 miles per week now that the challenge has been completed!

Well I made it to 1,005km by the end of June, my target is 2,015km in 2015, so I'm pretty much on target. I'm on holiday for a few weeks in September, although I'll try to sneak some cycling in, I'm not sure how much, so will try to build up a buffer before then.

Can't remember if I ever updated this but I'm chasing a 300w 10. 285 best so far so it's getting close.

I wanted points this year and I've managed a 10th place so far. Going to train through July and see if I can find some form for August and September. :-)

Bumping this as I hit my goal this morning - 2,015km in 2015!

How has everyone else done?
