I've just remembered that we had a thread about this time last year asking what everyone's cycling goals and aims were fir 2014 so I figured I'd start one for 2015!

My aim for the year is a top 10 in the 24h solo at Bontrager 24/12.

Not sure of any others yet.

What's everyone else got planned?

Think there is a thread, not sure how easy it will be to find though...?

2000 miles and minus 25Kg, however I planned for 1000 miles this year and missed that by 400.

I'll be aiming for 5000 miles next year.

I'm also doing the solo at Bontrager 24/12 - but I'm no threat to the top ten biggrin

10,000km and 100,000m of climbing. I'd like to aim higher but I've got lots of foreign weddings next year, including my own, plus a honeymoon, so I think that'll kibosh any more ambitious plans.

I would like to do 1500 miles. I'm also planning on going to work and back at least once a month but that probably won't start until april time.

Shed 15 kgs and complete a 100 mile ride, separately.

Mine are quite achievable, so far I have

2000 miles
get fit
drop the remaining 4 kgs
hopefully get into the ride london 100
Take a holiday

That should cover most of it.

Get fit
Lose 10kg by getting fitter
Eat healthier
Enter a race
Cycle to work 5 days a week during April - September
Buy a cyclocross bike

I've recently quit smoking and cut my alcohol intake (in the last 3months had about 6pints) so 2015 is the year I'm fit!!

A few local ones for me that won't mean anything to most, but essentially average 30 mph on my local 25 course. And also top ten in the national 10 and 25 mile champs. And hopefully win a road race again, first year this one that I've not after a fair few wins the season before.

Learn to ride all the big stuff at Woburn sands - without getting horribly injured.

Average 30?

Chrikey, I tend to hit a Max of 30 on my loop and it scares me somewhat.

I'm aiming to do the following:

1. Cycle 5,000km (inc. commute & on top of running 1,600km)
2. Complete an 85 mile sportive in July
3. Complete a 113km triathlon in August
4. Beat the current KOM time on a Strava segment on the way home from work.

... To get back out of the rut that was 2014!

2013 I did some decent riding, 3k miles, club TT's, did 2 140+ mile rises without blinking an eye.
2014 I did 1k miles, no club events and a flat 126 miles killed me =(

Bloody offspring, properly get in the way of a lycra habit!

I'm using the polka dot challenge as a target in May - 10,000 ft climb in 1 ride will be a new PB by 2,000 foot though - I'm going to have to get some climbing in these legs!

Hmmmm, I am a little stumped on challenged for next year at the moment - probably not going to be mileage based again although I will probably still aim to meet or exceed 8k miles.

Suggestions???

I've not got any particular statistic-based objectives but I have entered three events which mean my target is to get fit enough!

Isle of Mull cyclosportive - pretty hilly 88 miles

Ride London 100 (waiting for the ballot like others)

London to Brighton and back for Challenge Cancer - planning on riding from home to the start and back from the finish making this 145 miles. Mainly at night. Should be fun!
