I've reached a reasonable level of competency on my rollers ie I can do 20 or so miles without falling off. I do find though that when I go to "stand up" pedalling if I'm not careful I go off the front of the rollers.

I have measured the wheelbase and set the roller spacing to match, this leaves the front tyre sitting exactly on top of the front roller say 12 o'clock .I wondered if I may be better just spacing them slightly more so the contact area of the front tyre sits just to the rear of the 12 o'clock position to perhaps hold the bike between the rollers a bit more.

I suppose I could just try it but wondered if anyone else had experimented with roller spacing and how it affects pedalling and rolling efficiency.

Yep, what you're describing does make them a bit less "lively"
