I am going to try to change my schedule to make this. I'll hire from the bike hub as my bike is trshed at the minute and not very good. I'll be the one at the back but looking forward to it.

Oh go on then. I think I'll have to fit some mud guards first, I don't like eating mud!

Occasionally see the odd CX bike too...
I've ridden Swinley on my CX bike a few times, do-able but nowhere near as much fun as on an MTB!

Yeah, I had a go on my mates up there - absolutely terrifying doing a steep bermed descent using the brakes on the hood!

Yes - at the bike hire shop by the carpark. I don't know the cost though.

It'd be good to meet some PHers so I'll try to get along to this.

Did the full blue / red today for the 1st time, enjoyed it some great use of the minimal elevation changes really well thought out route. I'm down for 25th, but think 10:30 is too late to meet if you are extending the loop another 4 miles, we had 6 riders today and met at 09:30 to unload cars, we started riding at 10:00 sharp and rolling time was 1hr 45min but add 2 x punctures and some small mechanicals, plus couple of minor breather / snack stops we didn't get back to the car park until 13:00. With a bigger group there are only going to be more punctures / mechanicals, longer stops waiting for the slowest.

Okey doke - we'll see nearer the day exactly who's coming and how early we can all start. I live exactly 1 mile away so I can start as early as possible and finish as late as required! Suppose we just need to make sure everyone coming by car puts enough on the parking ticket as they can be quite hot on that.

Went again today, they have opened some more bits of the red loop up from last weekend. On my own I did the full red / blue in 1hr 35mins, 7th overall for that course on Strava.

Got a link to that particular segment? Reason I ask is that at 1hr15m, im 104th on the old Blue/Red layout (last years, before we built "Newt") - the really quick guys are doing it comfortably under an hour!
That said, that's a decent time considering the mud at the moment...

Cool, only my 3rd visit to Swinley, I imagine when it's all hard packed dry it'd be a lot faster. I've just gone single chainring and not quite used to pushing the bigger gears up hilsl yet, off to Cwmcarn tomorrow to do Twrch and Cafall so think that'll learn me :-). Swinley does have some great downhill sections that have been built really well, don't know what any of them are called, but two of the steepest sections stand out really flow very well and the jumps / berms transition really well. Got some skilled trail builders there.
