What to wear - commuting only 3 miles
Discussion
Just roll your trousers up, pop a pair of gloves on, and ride your bike.
You do not need special clothes to ride 3 miles.
Fit flat pedals so you can go in ordinary shoes. Or MTB pedals and some DZRs
As for getting mud, if only there were some kind of barrier you could buy that followed the curve of the wheels and stopped water and road dirt being thrown up at you.

People in most countries commute in their work clothes and ride practical city bikes with mudguards and chain guards.
I have pedals that are flat on one side and spd on the other on my own commuter/hack cx bike and wear full cycling kit, but I ride more miles.

Keen to try the vinegar trick as most of my kit smells like a tramp's undercrackers. But doesn't it make your washing machine smell like a chippy?
No. It's only a couple of tablespoons, so it's massively diluted down. I have no idea how or why it works, as I would've thought it would be diluted to nothing, but it does work amazingly well!MC Bodge said:

Homeopathic laundry.Whn I cycle a similarly short distance to work I wear normal cycling clothes, but take it easy so I'm not too sweaty. Recently I've been using the Muc Off dry shower stuff and that seems good. I leave a towel and a change of shoes at work, but take my clothes in my rucksack. Usually I take a much longer route home.
