Comments such as 'look like a tool' are not quite the same as not seeing the point. Some people just buy things they consider nice, cars, power tools and even bikes. I don't think they should have to use them to the full or justify them.
Well that's just my personal opinion on what they look like, people can do what they want if really want aero wheels for the club run then go for it but maybe consider something else as an alternative they not have thought of like a nice Chris King hub'd build on some lovely rims suitable for all year round use.fromage said:

I know a guy who trashed his 404's on a club run, crazy running them on pot holed roads in Oxfordshire for no good reason. But using your logic a pair of CK hubs, not even including the build would pay for 3 sets of Fulcrum 7's. Just sayin' yonex said:

Yup hence why my training wheels cost £160, got Pacenti SL23's on Superstar branded hubs, been great so far I just can't justify spending much on training wheels.Have seen quite a few Zipps 303's and 404's cracked now due to pothole strikes they need quite a wide tyre to protect them fully

If someone turned up to a club run in a skin suit what would your first thought be?okgo said:
Welcome to our world.
I think as is always the case, the thread speaks for itself. I am sure I won't have any issues with the real humans, you know, the ones you can see and touch, when I turn up for a weekend social on a pair of nice wheels. In fact, I might have very similar wheels to the majority of them Dizeee said:

So it's about fitting in? That's worst reason to spend £1500 ever I'm afraid if whilst on a club run, it goes into hill race mode, you know how it happens someone taps through harder than the rest, and then it just descends into sprinting for signs and summits, it's always nice to give the flash kit owners a whooping with something vastly cheaper. It's not about envy, it's about proving that you can't buy speed, and legs/lungs count for more.
Yes I would like some Enve rims on CK hubs, but it's not a necessity, and when I look at the cost, I see several cheaper matching sets shod with different tyres depending on conditions/pit spares (sorry I'm a cyclocrosser )

Yeah but then all the little lightweights who fly up hills get sniffy when you cane downhill or try and up the tempo on the flat Yes I would like some Enve rims on CK hubs, but it's not a necessity, and when I look at the cost, I see several cheaper matching sets shod with different tyres depending on conditions/pit spares (sorry I'm a cyclocrosser )
