Will it be possible to buy bikes at the show this weekend, and are they bargains?

My bike got written off last weekend by a car and I am in the market for a 2015 supersix 105. All prices on the web seem to be fixed to £1500.
Read further up the thread for discounts on the Planet X. You'll be able to order at the bike show, but don't expect any deals on the show floor. Their nanolight with Rival 22 is £1095 all in. A Supersix with Rival 22 is something like £1699 all in. However, I guarantee that be hugely discounted once the 2016 range gets announced in August this year.

Deals can be had on the 2015 Cannondale range

I believe the Cannondale distributors discourage stores advertising discounted prices on current year stock. 10% off (or 10% worth of accessories) is often available for the asking though.
It's on my list too, 105 for 1500 or Sram for 1700. I think the Sram one looks 200 better though. Nice to know deals could be had...

Call Epic Cycles. I was going to buy a SuperSix from there before I was made redundant. They do decent wheel packages too, as lets be honest, the standard wheels will be pants smile

I think the wheels on the Sram version are better than the 105, will check it out.

That is nice! Seen pics of a bright Orange one, but I think it is up around £4k...

Thanks for the tip on Epic cycles. The Fulcrum wheelset combo looks like a great deal.

Its a bargain till you've ridden a Cervelo...

I don't often agree with Pablo, but I think he is about right here.
Can't disagree with that, I should have clarified this was a C2W purchase. At that price point, there is little better

I just picked up a 2014 Propel Advanced 2 for a bit over £2k. Might be a job finding one though.

Thanks for the advice

like the look of the Giant, and was looking at the 2015 S2 with budget creep ( I don't think the 54 would be big enough)... now I have too many choices!

Will see what happens today smile

I've been looking for a road bike around this price point (and a little more, for the right bike) for a while now.

In fact I reckon I'm overthinking the process a bit. I took a big step back from the search for a couple of weeks because it was doing my head in, but I'm actively looking again now.
Here are a few bikes that I've been looking at...

Boardman Elite Series SLS 9.0 @ £1800
Focus Cayo 6.0 @ £1600
Mekk Primo 6.2 @ £2000
Radon Ignite 9.0 SL @ £1320

Front runners in the search are...

Cervelo R2 @ £2000
Storck Scenero @ £2000
Cannondale Synapse 105 5 @ £1650

I need to drive to Guildford later, as a shop there has texted me to say that they've got a Cervelo R2 in from their Petersfield store for me to have a look at. Then I'm going to check to see if a shop that had a (much) more expensive (but significantly reduced) Bianchi still has the bike. Buying any one of those 'front runners' would leave me with enough for a really good lightweight wheelset too. I'm thinking Strada Alpine Attacks @ <£600 and c1440 grams, which would bring the Cervelo down to about 7.5kg.

Stop worrying about the weight of the thing, it's one of the less important factors in choosing a half decent road bike. They'll all be light enough not to hinder you in any way, don't worry about it.

Buy what you like the look of, what feels comfortable for you and what you get the best deal on.

I agree weight isn't the be all or end all, the people I see when out on bikes who are the most anal about bike weight usually have about 2 extra stone round their waist

For general riding under 20lbs is fine for me , my winter bike is 25lbs and my commuter nearer 30lbs

Less time choosing, more time riding I say whenever I start dithering
