Thing is, none of these bikes are off the beaten track really, they're all fairly standard.

The S works bike I'll end up with would likely cost you near 5 grand, and I think I'll have it built all in for under 3, and that includes the zipps.

Been looking at a similar list of bikes for the last month or so. I currently ride a Spesh Sectuer which was bought as a trial to see if I got on with road bikes, mainly a mountain bike rider but got fed up with the cleaning during winter. Had the Sectuer a couple of years now and really get on with it so figured I would buy something better this year and keep the Sectuer as a winter bike.

I'm mainly looking for a club ride bike, something that I can do 40-50 miles comfortably with the occasional sportive. So I think this rules out most sport geometry bikes as they are now coming with mid compact chainsets and I want to stick with compact for hill climbing.

Happy to stick with 105 groupsets as the difference between these and Ultegra seems very small now.

So far I've narrowed it down to a Emonda SL5 or Roubaix Elite, just need to get some test rides arranged.
