Oddly enough no, it was Martigny and turn right into Italy to Aosta then Courmeyer. (Just needed to work out getting through the tunnel, but iirc they run a bus through for bikes)

I could help with accommodation in Morzine if anyone is interested. We (our company) own a chalet in the centre of Morzine. Its pretty basic but I'm sure we could sort something. I sits empty all summer (bar Sept).

I had a play on Strava last night for someone else and using Chamonix as a base created 3 routes, each was circular around the 100 mile mark, 2 were 12,000ft of climbing and 1 was 18,000!

And I thought 12000ft in one day was good going eek

18000 does appeal though... biggrin

18,000 feet is certainly appealing... but not with 126 miles bolted on. Can't we find one about 85 miles? Far more palatable smile

I've just cleared out the car and found a few odds and sods, can people pm me with address details.

1 pair thin full fingered black gloves (altura?)
1 white base layer (richardxjr's I believe)
Gruffy I found your other bottle.

Also, thanks guys for the donations to my costs

(dislike discussing money but not saying thanks is worse!)

Maybe we can rendezvous halfway between homes and do a bit of riding (Toys/Ide/York Hills?) some point soon?

Justin, I wondered where those gloves had gone. Thought I had put them in my plastic box. Mine are the thin full finger ones. No rush before autumn and may see you before then smile

That was intended to mean halfway between Justin and I. Halfway to you is a bit of a ride!

Yorks confusion smile

Yeah a ride up that way would be good, I need to get some miles in though once this knee issue subsides. You did more last weekend than I've done this year.

Talking of knees, my soreness and aching behind my right knee has just about subsided. I'll make some saddle tweaks as per your suggestions, Justin

Have you tried foam rolling. That worked for my knee pain.

^This. If I'd have dealt with my knee problems sooner I wouldn't have lost 5 years of sports. A session with a good physio could save you years of aggro. Foam roller, also superb.

Late to the party, but just a couple of the photos I took on stage 3 on Sunday...

Kind of apt, on the day that the VE Day commemoration was held in London, to find this memorial in Shalford village.

You think they sell cake here?

Rayne station cafe stop for lunch. Bacon 'doorstep' sandwiches were ace!

Nearly there! Passing through the Olympic Park on the way into London proper.

I genuinely think that was the difference between me making it and me not. Pain on Saturday morning was quite bad - and with 200 miles to go, I was nervous. But then...hurrah!! DRUGS!!

Same here. If anything was going to stop me it was my knees flaring up. The brufen helped to keep the inflammation in check from Saturday morning through the Buck Palace. Two tabs now have a permanent home in my saddle bag.
