When I read the Stage 1 report I wished I had been there.

When I read the Stage 2 report I was glad I wasn't!

Big respect to you three for pushing on through the wind and rain at the beginning and not climbing off. I think I would have succumbed.

It's a shame there's no record of just how tough that final few hours of stage 1 was but, as often happens, when the weather turns like that you stop taking photos. That was as wet as I've ever been on a bike but we tried to ignore it because at that stage we expected a full day of the same for stage 2.

And I actually didn't mind the atrocious conditions on the last hour of Stage 1. In my little World I was Roger de Vlaminck pushing on through one of the Spring Classics :-D

Gents, some rather low quality pics have turned up courtesy of my brother (he won't read this!) from the Mall.
