Looking for a hardtail... budget is around £2k (can stretch a bit if needed).

Currently very taken by the Whyte 905 and 909... any others worth looking at?

Cotic Soul, 650bs are reduced at the moment due to an issue with the paint quality. but still fully warrantied etc etc, bargain at £400. Nice build will easily be sub £2k.

I've just got an NS Eccentric (steel) 650b with 142 x 12mm back end and it's a beautiful frame with 140mm travel forks and light too (2.4kg) for steel. It's a bit like the Production Privee Shan but not so expensive.

Bird zero. A fantastic aggressive and slack hard tail that can be ridden hard and fast and can take anything you can throw at it! Great british company with superb support.

This is mine and I just love it!!

On one 456, built with a good spec. I've a 456ti it goes great, caught and passed many an Enduro bike down Cwmcarn etc still great on the climbs & flats. Also looks better than fat aluminium tubes.

This was £2k Ti, could make a great standard 456 with the pick and mix deal at the moment for £1200.

I have a Whyte 901 from 2012 and I still think it was the best choice for the £1200 I had. I am not a massive fan of the Elixir brakes but I can live with them for now. And I've changed the bar for an On One Og with Whyte ergonomic grips.

Wow that Is a good looking bike.

As for the bird it's not a good looking frame up top by the seat tube is it.

For me I'd spend £900 on a Curtis AM9 and £1100 building it up.
