Any Niner Owners here?
Discussion
Close to ordering an Air9 after cracking the frame on my Dirty Harry (which has identical geometry) and wondered if there were any real world experiences of Niners on here?
Bearing in mind I'm in Singapore, so they're more common here than UK probably, but worth a quick post to check.

I've got an Air9 at the moment which I'm trying to sell. They're not a bad frame but not great either, it might just be me but I couldn't get on with it very well. It's a nice looking bike but I find it to be very stiff. It also has fairly poor tyre clearance.
Another thing with it is the finish, it's absolutely dire for such an expensive frame. It will chip as soon as you look at it, exceptionally poor quality.
Personally I was debating between buying the Niner or a Pivot LES and I went with the cheaper option and went for the Niner. I've now replaced it with a Pivot and the difference is night and day. The Pivot is fast, stiff in all the right ways and very comfortable. I wish I'd went for it in the first place.
Nice looking bike.
There's a few but not many here, the feedback has been generally very good. I'm looking at the carbon or the RDO. Tragically I don't white and I don't like the grey/green, but the step up for the better carbon and lay up and preference for color is a bit eye watering, given my hand is being forced due to breaking the frame on my Dirty Harry, which has identical geometry to the Air9, but I can't get another one ..... Plus my nearest bikeshop is a Niner outlet.
I took a RIP 9 out on Sunday which convinced me I like my hardtail, but it was a riot to ride in the rough technical stuff..... I would break my neck eventually though!
Thanks for the feedback, appreciated.

I've got a Niner RLT, which I have raced all season as a singlespeed cyclocross machine, it's been spot on, the handling is lovely. Definitely want a few more Niners in my fleet.
Have you had similar experiences to Neenaw reference finish?I had a good look round one on Sunday as well and was impressed.

No it's stayed looking really nice till I threw it up the track at the weekend, but a concrete slab edge is always going to kill the paint, it didn't do much for my body work either, but picked it up and carried on racing.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
