Two of my teeth can sometimes be a bit sensitive to hot and cold.

I've noticed recently in the cold weather that my teeth don't hurt while I'm out but when I return and eat / drink anything warm I'm in agony!

Latest bout is taking ages to subside!

Wonder if anyone else suffers with this / has any tips for avoiding it!

Blimey was going to post on this!

I have found my teeth feel odd and often ache after riding intense longer distances, I always presumed perhaps it was the cold making them sensitive but I get it in the summer

I read some peer review studies concerning runners and cyclists and from memory intense cardio can cause your mouth to dry from lack of saliva and saliva being one of the key elements in protecting teeth and keeping the mouth neutral. Whilst the mouth is low on protective saliva you often eat high sugar snacks and drinks which can compound the risks.

I also take inhalers, which one of the leading side effects is ..dry mouth!

My teeth are pretty poor, I really look after them now but aren't having much luck, I hope cycling isn't making them worse!

No sensitive teeth but a weird chesty cough the day after a long ride. Never whilst riding, just the day after and not intense just a light occasional chesty cough.

I hadn't noticed it before, but I did a long ride earlier and my teeth are quite painful this afternoon!

I get a numb tongue when I am going hard. I don't think I'm pulling any faces or anything but sometimes I try and talk to someone and I can't get my words out. Its quite embarrassing

Interesting the dry mouth explanation. I go to the gym and sometimes don't have any water. When I have some afterwards it starts my teeth hurting!

I had to try not clenching my teeth in gym tonight as I think the grinding / clenching could be contributing. Maybe I do that when I'm pushing on at cycling too?

Pain like no other tho - similar to the feel and intensity of a brain freeze, but lasting about 5 mins after any hot / warm food.

My teeth aren't thebest either so there will be some existing issues at work which exercise / cold / dry mouth / clenching teeth is making worse.

About 20 years ago I had a throb in one of my front teeth, and after a few days went to the dentist - It turned out the nerve had died! I asked him what could have caused it, and he said "unsure.... years ago before full-face helmets motorcyclists used to get it quite a lot". The previous Sunday I'd been pedalling for several hours in sub-zero temperatures! and it would appear had frozen the nerve in my tooth. Clearly the all-weather symptoms are different, but certainly worth avoiding the cold blast of air.

I get this and the stupid chesty cough. Both caused by the cold trying to kill you. Bring on summer.

I get this but it's from my jaw getting cold cycling below 5`C. As above, bring on summer.
