Well the weather looks properly st. Rain all day, I'm just on the way to pick up my mate and head on down. Water proofs def a good idea today. If possible can people coming update the thread and say they will be there (trailhead at 10am for 10:10 departure) so we are not hanging round un-necessarily getting more and more drowned :-)

Cheers for organising Steve!
The cycling gods smiled on us today - the rain stopped bang on 10am and by the end of the ride it was sunshine smile
Nice meeting the rest of y'all too!

Was good fun to get out and get to meet you guys smile Bit muddy, but clothes in the wash, bike cleaned and debating a beer. All before 3pm. productive sunday!

I just need to work on my MTB skills as was struggling to keep up in bits!

It was surprisingly dry, although I was soaked in my waterproofs doh! Just finished cleaning my bike when the thunder started and heavens opened, so spot on timing.

Good to meet everyone, hopefully get another one in with nice fast dry trails in the summer.

Also if any ones got any other areas riding worth sharing, post up.

I'll plan a Cwmcarn trip later in the summer for sure, bit harder riding and as it more travel getting there its always worth doing both XC routes back to back, maybe with a lunch break, the cafe is good, 1000m climbing 30km for both routes.

Cheers

Steve

I'm also "gutted I couldn't make it this time", but I didn't roll out of bed until 1050hrs this morning. Rather knackered after turfing the 'lawn' at the back of the house yesterday, and didn't fancy a schlep up to Swinley in the rain when I had the option of staying in my nice warm, dry, comfortable bed with coffee an croissants brought to me... wink

Hey all, yeah it was good to catch up with some PH mtbers (And weather was perfect for a quick rip round the woods!)

If people would like a guided tour of Woburn Sands (my local trails) sometime then i'm happy to lead a ride around there ;-)

Most importantly, no one fell off. Or if they did, they managed to do it out of sight and earshot of the rest of the group ;-)

Yes, it was strange I though a guy was going to come who's notorious for SPD fails, completely forget what his name is, maybe I'm imagining things ;-)

Since we're all mates now, I should point out that UKbabz is a lot less sexy in real life than her his PH username would suggest.

Weather for this Saturday is looking good so I'm going to head up to Swinley fairly early - 9ish by the lower star post, if anyone is up for a morning's riding?
