65m of climbing per lap, according to the email they just sent out. That's 136 laps to tick off an Everest of Brands Hatch. Or 531km, requiring a race average of 22.12kph.
What do you recon? 13mph for 24hrs sounds like very little rest. It'll certainly be a nice tick in the box if/when you do it. bow

We'll all the doing what we can to keep you on it too. thumbup

btw, you're still showing as being in the team of 4 on the App.

Very good point! You'll end up on big ring and 32T though, which won't do your chainring or chain much good after 24hrs of it

If your running a 52/36 chainset you could swap the 52 for a 50 as the PCD is 110mm for both

In fairness, it's probably no bad thing to be changing rings regularly. It'll keep the hands moving. 24 hours is a long ol' time and I'm sure they'll be a mess by the end of it.

If anyone not yet taking part is on the fence about signing up for "THE 6" six hour, they've just mailed me saying they're reducing the price for solo entrants to £40.

I think that's exceptional value for such a venue.

well at least no one can moan and say "you're paying how much to ride roads that are free every other day of the year?"

Blimey. Just £34 for six hours on what is surely the most evocative circuit in the UK.

Top that with no drawing pins, no traffic, very little chance of taking a wrong turn and a feed station every two and a half miles and you'd need to have a very important prior engagement not to enter.*

*Or really not like the idea of doing laps, I begrudgingly give you that. smile

Having paid the full price of £150, I'm very miffed they're now offering a discount of 15% !

I've just read this in the T&Cs....!!!

"In the unlikely event of the Event being cancelled, Revolve24 shall provide the Participant with a full refund, less an administration charge of £50 (24 hour race) or £20 (6 hour race), with no further liability whatsoever arising from such cancellation"

Who's signed for The Six. SPB, Justin, ... ? Might have to join in. Got a stupidly selfish ride the weekend before (Ridgeway double ITT), so will see if I can get a pass. Camping too, cheap fun weekend.

Can't afford the 24, thank God as that everesting possibility sure looks interesting, is there only 1 climb though per lap as that's how an everest is supposed to be earned, reps of 1 single climb. If so, Gruffy will piss it.

The official rules of everesting prohibit loops. They insist you have to descend the same route you climbed up. So I can't submit it to the everesting board but I don't care. I'll be just as happy to bag the numbers unofficially.

Do it Richard, don't forget that BRANDS15 discount code (sorry Tony!, with 15% you'd have been able to buy a Rapha sock)

I asked them (nicely smile ) if they can retrospectively add the code to my booking. They said no.

Not sure yet. Ideally I'd rock up saturday and give some help and support to the 24 hour guys, then in the evening have a damn good feed, a couple of beers and retire to a hotel/b&B until the morning. I may however have to work until 11pm sat.

Might end up with a blow up in the SAAB arriving at brands at midnight Sat.

Shall we wait up for you? wink

I'm just off out on a 70 mile (although not much elevation ) club ride. Just doing my bit for the starting grid position ☺

You'll be good for an Everesting attempt based on the published rules, I reckon...

The Rules - Everesting said:
The descent must be via the same road unless you are prevented from doing so (e.g. one-way street or trail).
...whichever way you read that, Brands Hatch Circuit complies - it's definitely a "one way" road. And it's also the 'same road' up as it is down, as it's called "Brands Hatch Circuit" all the way around wink
