I think there's enough interest already for at least two teams of four, maybe even three.

:whisper: shall we start a list? :/whisper:

I so wanted to come down and see this. Or to take part, even.

But...

I was tempted away to Duxford on the Sunday, to thrill to the noise of oodles of Spitfires and Hurricanes taking to the air, all at the same time. That, and the fact that in my confused state, I was labouring under the false impression that the Brands event was safely a few weeks off. Doh!

24 hours seems to be an awful long time, so probably not likely to solo it. Part of a team, or a shorter "The Six" stint might be interesting. But I shall refrain from joining a list at this early stage, as I've no idea what I might be up to in a year's time. Rest assured, though, I shall keep my eyes peeled for further info on the event in Pedal Powered, and make a decision nearer the time.

Oh! And a mahoosive WELL DONE!!! to everyone who took part, supported the riders, or just went along to yell abuse! thumbup

Myself, with richardxjr and JustinF showing the rest how it's done on the first lap.

(The grandstands were full, but they'd just popped to get an ice cream when the photo was taken)

Just to throw a small spanner in the works, has anyone considered Rad am Ring?
Not too much more money and a truly epic venue.

I'd like to (tentatively) chuck my hat in the ring for this for next year. I notice there are no aerobars in the pictures, was that a rule?

Yes - it was no aero bars, no solid disc wheels, and (annoyingly, for a 24hr race) no ear pieces for mobiles or radios, either. No still or video cameras allowed on bikes. Need to have good lights when dark (which was from about 6.30pm).

Think that was it for rules. Other than the camera one (which assume was for insurance purposes) the rules were appropriate and sensible.

They've got a cyclocross option for next year, since an interesting development.

I asked them earlier if it was allowed to do that on an MTB.

The reply was that grey would get back to me. Something to do with it being a BC registered whatever and they weren't sure if that allowed MTB's

Can't see a problem with it, as it's only national class cross races where you can't use a MTB.
