Revolve 24 at Brands Hatch

I've done a 12hour solo round Brands https://www.strava.com/activities/180849393 The Garmin died before the end so not all the data is there but the things I learnt were;
1. Laps are short, only 6-8 minutes to get round - you'll know each hole in the tarmac pretty soon, especially your lines on the corners
2. Hailwood Hill really is quite steep - if you're going to do longer turns don't push too hard up that
3. Loos are a long way from the pits so make sure you're prepared for your stint as you don't want to pit
4. Pit lane is quite long and the difference between out on the track and coming in for a hand over could be up to 20 seconds or so for you guys. If in a fast moving group it may be better to stay out for a bit longer
5. Pits have a good amount of space and a sink so no issues with cleaning up but I was told they were light on power sockets. I didn't check that myself as I didn't need any power during my ride.
I found it like a really extended set of intervals, Hailwood Hill hard, recover round the next bend and downhill then on the gas again climbing gently up the back of the circuit and then flow back towards the main straight and the fast descent back to the foot of Hailwood. It's a nice track but over 12 hours I did get a bit stir crazy
My key error was taking a break at lunch, I should have just got my support to grab some food that I could have eaten on the bike as I made my way round, that break whilst welcome was not the best tactical choice in the end.
Have fun, sounds like a super event to do.

As a bit of a thread bump, I just noticed these in the PH email that just arrived in my inbox.

Quick sit rep with 40 days to go....
I have entered a team called "pistonheads" nominally as a team of four but as with most things, thats all open to change. There are five interested parties at preset, Gruffy and I who are fully signed up, and Tony, EddH and CoolC who are intent on competing but are yet to sign up. So thats a team of four with five members... which at present puts us in the teams of six class which isnt quite what we wanted.
It would be awesome if we could get one more rider and enter a second pistonheads team, two teams of three would be ideal as it gives us loads of track time and, as you enter individually, it doesnt mean that people have paid for a team of four between three people, just that there are three riders in this particular team competing against teams of four...
I know its £145 per rider for a team of four and I know thats a lot of money but the average sportive is around £30 now with special events like Velothon and RideLondon well over £50. I'm not saying this is going to be three times as good as those or you'll get to ride three times as far but it will be a big laugh, an odd/unusual/interesting event and the source of some good banter for a few weeks.
A friend of Tony's has also kindly offered his services as team manager and I'm sure he could stretch to running two...

I expressed early interest and am still keen but I binned all my big stuff this year to spend bike time with my lad (only get to do that once and when he's off doing women and uni I'll get my bike time back) as a result I'm not fit enough to compete but able enough to partake.
I'd happily do a crew chief role if it's needed too.

I couldn't run to the cost of entering, but they've just created (or I've just noticed) a cheaper 6 hour format on the same day:
Solos at £50 and Pairs at £40 each
Sod it. I've put myself down for a 6 hour solo. See you there!
If we get enough PH interest, we could probably have a pit garage of our own...Solos at £50 and Pairs at £40 each

Just been looking at the timings. The 6-hour race starts at 9am on the Sunday, when you 24ers will be 18 hours in. So we'll all finish at the same time. Solos at £50 and Pairs at £40 each

It also means you'll be 18 hours in when I start. And you'll still be going faster than me. Shall we start a sweepstake on how many times Team PH and Gruffy each lap me?
