OK, so given the choice between wired and "folding" tyres, I always choose the latter. They are easier to get on the rim, lighter and less prone to damage from tyre levers in my experience.

What is the point of wired tyres? In what area are they better? I must be missing something....

Cheaper.

Often more rubust too if the rubino is anything to go by
