Our club is opening it's kit order for the second half of the year.
Is dropping over £100 on a skin suit a worthwhile investment to see a time improvement or is it better spent elsewhere. Like in the pub

I reckon you'll see more of a gain from a skin suit and pointy hat than you would with aero wheels. Is dropping over £100 on a skin suit a worthwhile investment to see a time improvement or is it better spent elsewhere. Like in the pub

I'm not gonna bother riding with Power any more, managed to smash my 10 mile PB by almost a minute to get a 22:19 on a not especially quick night. 17th out of 60+ riders, very happy. 277W average and 171BPM average, which I've not been hitting for quite a while I think due to the fact I've been trying to ride on power.

Ride 'with' not 'to'
I only ever 'use' it to keep everything in check for the first 1/4 of whatever distance I'm doing.
Well done.
Think my year has been so up and down with various stag dos and illness I've been too worried about it! Will see how I get on Sunday in our local league! Tonight was my first 10 in quite a while, so just smashed it round.I only ever 'use' it to keep everything in check for the first 1/4 of whatever distance I'm doing.

A skinsuit gave me the biggest gain overall of any TT equipment. The rider is the major drag on the bike. Steve vRS said:

TT suit, then Helmet, shoe covers and front wheel. The worst value for money time wise being a disc.

I am doing the R variant of that course in a few weeks. I think I did a mid 19 on that course as part of a 25 on there earlier in the year! Can be quick. SoliD said:
Saw that was coming up in a couple of weeks as the previous open got canned. Good luck! Definitely can be quick depending on the wind and the traffic (passing close by sucking you along )
The previous open is being re-run too, but there is another on a Saturday that I've entered as I can't make the midweek ones.Yes, quick on the right day, sadly unlike the 25 I don't think I'll be breaking the course record for the 10 as Hutch has it with a very short 18, but I hope I can possibly trouble an 18 if the weather plays ball.

Discs are worth it for the noise alone.

Just looking at those photos, and I presume you are the chap on the rather more 'conventional' Trek bike. What the frig is the other joint 6th chap riding? It looks like it belongs in the Batcave! It's mental. Andy Jackson, joint 10th, was riding a very similar bike. They look entirely mad (the bikes, I mean, not the riders).http://www.velouk.net/2015/08/02/results-rttc-25-m...

Are you riding the national 10? Any idea on time estimates? I think it will be very humbling for many riders just how slow the course is. It looks undersubscribed so I may try for an entry as I'm local.http://www.velouk.net/2015/08/02/results-rttc-25-m...

Blimey, that is one interesting looking bike! brianthemagical said:

If I can do 400w at my current level of drag I should be close to the course record of 19.41, so I'd imagine I'll probably just about do around a 19 weather pending.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
