So I want to be better at the local 10 TT, but seem to struggle to put down power on the flats. Up a 20 min climb I can ave 305W, but struggle to get 280W at the evening 10.
Is this normal? I just need to practice more right?
Don't forget on a climb you'll be generally more upright and thus able to put more power down, but will suffer aerodynamically. Is this normal? I just need to practice more right?

What you reckon it was likely to be wrong by. 3rd place was also on Strava at a minute slower at 329watts / 4.16 w/kg (on his Strava page) so circa 71.5kg
Probably 20w or so, unless his position is awful, but its not that bad having seen him. He weighs about the same as that bloke you mention there.I had a first bash at a 10 TT earliier. 27:01.
I quite enjoyed it and want to do another one. I should have had a go years ago...
There was a tailwind on the outbound and a headwind on the way back. It was a bit wet.
The 10 miles felt shorter than expected.
I think I tucked in reasonably well, but I did learn that I needed to put my seat higher (I had moved it forward after the clip on Aero bars test ride the other day). My legs and riding position felt like the limiting factor, with discomfort in the tops of my thighs in the final couple of miles. I probably hung on to too high a gear at times too.
. My Cardio-vascular performance didn't feel to be limiting, It wasn't like Running a 10K.
- I probably should have rested a bit in the preceding days.

That pain at the top of your thighs, assuming it's the back of your thighs, is likely your hamstrings not being used to the big gear and you being on the drops/aero bars for so long.
I raced a different club 10 tonight, the E7/10c. It's a faster course so I was expecting to improve my time. A 45 second improvement was unexpected though! Managed a 24:45 (on a road bike, no aero bars). Average power was 286 watts which is another marginal improvement. I'm eeking closer to that 300w 10.
Hilariously I took a wrong turn and returned to the start. After shaking their heads they let me off again.

No, the pain was at the front top of my thighs. It eased a bit when I unweighted from the saddle for a final push. A raised saddle might help. I'm very used to riding the drops in comfort, but the aero bar position is quite different.
I think I have the engine to go a fair bit quicker, if I can get the position and technique right. I will work on it over the winter.

why don't you use your road bike to get a comparison. I ended up with my saddle too high and it affected the handling. Being "still" on the bike is also very important you see many riders with all the Aero gear and move and bob all over the place. The main thing is enjoy it.I think I have the engine to go a fair bit quicker, if I can get the position and technique right. I will work on it over the winter.
Zambia
I used the road bike with clip on aero bars and seat moved forward. I should have left the aero bars off to get a baseline,
