have you ever ridden on fixed in a TT?.
No, not enough flat courses round here for that! Well, the ones I do anyway.

Given you are near me, was it the Seamons TT you did as I had a crack at that one last night (badly) as well.

Steve
No, although I may well do in future. I should have started earlier in the season!

Picture from my TT on Thursday. Just looking at it, and my back doesn't seem very flat. Contemplating some small adjustments. Thoughts?

The frame looks a bit small.

I think just too high at the front, on a frame like the shiv to get where you are in your photo you'd need a stack of riser blokes.

My bike is small, but it doesn't put me in that position, in fact, many of the fast guys are riding frames too small for them on paper...

Look at his elbow vs front axle? Still reckon the frame is marginal

Look how far above the top tube his elbow is though, its 3 or 4 times higher than TM in that photo, it doesn't look like it as its not got an integrated stem, but its pretty high at the front I think.

Thanks, will give it a small drop and see how I go, think the other problem I have is that I have a short Torso, but quite long arms, bit out of proportion! biggrin

Well on the back of a ride today I did the back half of H10/8 (Bentley 10m TT), I had done about 65km at 30-31kph up to that point so was quite happy with 12.10, may well have a crack at the whole thing this week and see if I can get below 25mins with fresh legs and a short commute over to the start.

First half looks marginally more uphill!

The Welsh 10 today over in Abergavenny. A funny ride today. Went in the best prepared I've been , didn't rush the warm up, left plenty of time. I got to the line too soon. Never mind . The whole ride felt all wrong, but I ended up with a good PB - 20:37. My power was 365w which is down on what I've done, but I can't complain with a PB.
The winner finished with a19:37. That's the closest I've been to a winning time on and open event. All in all happy days!

Nice one, I drove past / through it all on the way to the MIL at about 09:00

Ticked a minor goal of mine off this weekend gone with a 49.24 on H25/8 which was enough to win by over a minute - was slightly hesitant about riding given someone was killed on the ten in the week, but I've always known that road, and knew that it was pretty rare for such a sad thing to happen so went along anyway.

Just looking at my TT results since the sporting ones and over the last 9 events I've averaged over 30mph by some margin.

Fantastic result, apparently an issue with one of the timekeepers stopwatches so it could drop by a few seconds. I'm hoping mine will come down, as I just missed my PB by 3 seconds, and I thought I managed to beat it going by my Garmin!

I think possibly my time was 1 second quicker than I got.

Who knows, Boyman who I tied with might get given a far quicker time haha!

Well I finished my first season last Wednesday with a 26:53, knocking a minute off my PB. I can see where I can improve too so with a bit of practice and training, I should be better next year.

Well done - I was out on a local hilly solo ride and saw some of the action as I went over the bridge. I was wishing I'd been part of it, but not back to fitness yet.

I was shocked to hear the news of the rider being killed, I've done the evening 10 several times and know some of his buddies. frown

I did my first ever TT this evening. It was a 10 miler just south of King's Lynn hosted by Kings Lynn Cycling Club. I was hoping to go under 30 mins, so was quite chuffed with 28.32, especially as after 3 miles in I was doing 16mph on an incline into a headwind. Winner did 21.26.

This was on my 1990's steel framed Peugeot, with no aero aids whatsoever, so a good baseline to start form I guess.

All I remember about the ride is concentrating on my heart rate and the soul destroying headwind for the first 3 miles. I can't say it was an enjoyable experience at the time, or that the TT bug has hit, but it's definitely a challenge i'll be attempting again. More than once I suspect.

your first time trial has to be the worst, i can still remember mine from many years ago nothing can prepare you for the pain. thats a really good effort on that bike I have a feeling you might just catch that bug.

First go with clip-on bars on my road race bike tonight, managed 22.31 (2nd) in our local 10 on the Prestwold circuit. Nasty headwind round the back of the circuit made pacing really difficult. Lots of reasons why I can get faster so I'm tempted to give it more of a proper go next season.
