The Dunwich Dynamo 2015 thread

Chaps. I'm getting the coach back. But haven't been able to print the ticket with the funny bar code thing on. One email said you must print out the ticket and another said we might be able to scan the ticket from an iPhone or iPad or similar but don't count on it.
Is it too risky to bring the ticket on the iPad as a photo - there's no real reason why it shouldn't scan from the iPad rather than a bit of paper is there?

Eastbourne, don't mind some diversions though I've got all day.
Justin, you sure it's just your bag I'm picking up at 5am?
Got my son over, I think the authorities might get involved if i drag him out for a 225 miler Justin, you sure it's just your bag I'm picking up at 5am?
(btw the SAAB won't be there if it's a landmark for you, will be a bettered old PUG 405 in silver)
I'm on my way...on a slow train. Had a few issues but hopefully I'll get there a bit after 8.
I'm riding with my brother who's done next to no riding lately, so imagine it will be quite slow...like last year.
If I spot any PH jerseys, I'll say hello! I'll recognise Swerni, but not sure on anyone else.
Have a good ride if I don't see you before.

Decided I was gonna do it this afternoon with some mates.
Just changed trains at Herne hill to find most the overground is not working.
I'm on a black gt grade disc bike (childrens light up pattern spoke toy on back wheel) wearing blue with white helmet if anyone wants to say hi.
Hopefuly batteries should last.

That was fun
SPB had a tumble exactly 16km into our 375km double, just out of Dunwich. He elected to soldier on with basically one hand, some rule 5, drugs, a bent mech hanger and possibly the only 9speed chain for sale in Suffolk. That delayed us into London by an hour. There was no way he was giving up on this!
Outbound leg for the two of us was incredibly hot and a headwind all the way, which ensured we made progress at a sustainable touring speed. Numerous water refilling stops and a proper lunch stop half way at the Heddingham Bell. (Loaded Nachos and 2 pints of OJ+Lemonade for me, in the shade of the pub garden. Somehow resisted the Adnams)
Met up with Justin at the George around 8, had a good feed in the beer garden there before heading up to London Fields and joining the mass exit about 9. A few stops including a pint at the (now) PH ride local in Moreton and later coffee and burger at another pub about 1am. Always in the company of hundreds of other loonies in excellent cheer. We spent most of the first half of the night ride together, meeting up with 80s matchbox and his bro every now and again until the second half of it when we got split up and only reqrouped back at the beach at dawn.
You got there quite a bit before us Swerni, I arrived shortly after 5 if I remember correctly.
I stoked up the promised barbie and after a bit of a rest we were away by just after 9am. Was a bit tired arriving home this afternoon after nearly 36hrs awake, 375km riding and the same again driving.
The night ride is a unique experience and lived up to what I'd heard, so will be back next year for sure. The double worked well logistically; I thought there'd be hundreds with the same idea but SPB and I only met 3 other double riders whilst out there.

A certain amount of muppetry in evidence on Sat night, most notably a number of living brain donors who thought it would be fun to ride through the night with no lights whatsoever (and invariably wearing dark clothing). Still can't work out the thought processes on that one.
First few miles through London was rubbish, but things improved immeasurably after that. Have to say though that while night riding is fun in many respects, and I've done a few, after a while the fact that the view is always the same (i.e. nothing) it gets a bit dull after a few hours.
Full respect to the bloke on the Molton who kept on my tail for a long while. I certainly wasn't dawdling.
