The Dunwich Dynamo 2015 thread
Discussion
Happy to drive into London and bash down the a21 after, whatever is needed.
Thinking of parking the SAAB in Yoxford which is about 4 miles from Dunwich, Dunwich itself is chaos on the Sunday with coaches and removal vans for bikes.
Al if you're staying at Swerni's I can get you both back there after, or if you're parking Dunwich end we can get you into town on sat I'm sure.
Lots of options.

With my chavtastic e46 coupe I can transport one passenger plus one bike, or three passengers but no bikes, the afternoon before from Dunwich/Yoxford. Regrettably that means Justin and Burriana wouldn't both fit unless neither had a bike.
Just thinking out loud, but what if we all parked our cars near the finish on Saturday afternoon and got the train into London from Darsham station? I imagine the train line will be swamped with riders trying to return with their bikes on the Sunday morning but on the afternoon beforehand? It would make getting home afterwards easiest for all of us if we could just hop straight in our own cars.

Sorry for the delay chaps!
All I was thinking was that, as I am heading back to Yorkshire afterwards, it would be easier to have my car somewhere near the finish and get a train into London on the Saturday afternoon.
But I'm getting the idea now that getting the train in, may not be as simple as it seems? Restrictions?
I am more than happy to take better suggestions, which ever works best Where do you live Swernie?

There's a campsite at Dunwich with 2 non adjacent pitches left. Fri and Sat night for £50/pitch

I'm liking the idea of an early drive up then nice daylight touring pace flat ride to London with a couple stops, arriving in good time for a pie and coke, then the night ride back.

100 miles doesn't bother me anymore, but never considered doing that twice in one day...
What would you call a touring pace, Dickie? You and Si were missiles on Stage 3. If we all rode together it'd have to be quite slow if I'm not to get cooked on the first leg.
What do you reckon Justin? In for a penny...?

A lot slower without my windshield! We're used to riding together so just got into our usual rhythm changing position every roundabout, worked alright.
I would be very happy at a more relaxed pace, would need to be to conserve energy. Likely a bit of a headwind to London so a little group could work nicely. Should be a laugh, I reckon there will be quite a crowd with the same idea.
Me and Si did over 200km that day, split up a bit, can't see a problem with 300 if we're sensible and eat plenty proper food especially with a proper 2-hour break in the middle.
Tailwind, adrenalin and Ibuprofen will see us alright on the return leg

I've not got the miles in my legs to say yes to such a stupendous endeavour.
I do however have a mildly crazy streak that says fk it why not, what could possibly go wrong.
I can drive out with capacity for 5 bikes but would want a seriously relaxed pace into London, I'm talking zone 2, chatting, no silly sprints for signs (I'm my own worst enemy when it comes to that st, just ask gruffy about the cyclocross comment :P), with ample time for recovery etc.
I'll also need a nap at the beach, driving after 350k riding 30 hrs awake on no sleep is not covered but my mildly crazy streak.
Worst case scenario I'll chuck one of you the keys and go sleep in a bus shelter
Richard makes sense if I take you up?
And ofc pick up 6PB and if swerni's up for a double him too.

My attitude too - it's such a grand idea it's hard to say no . Although what really sold it to me was the promise there'll be pie in London.I do however have a mildly crazy streak that says fk it why not, what could possibly go wrong.
I'd dump my car up there too, so no need for you to make any detours either way for me. Up to Burriana and swerni then, if they want to take on the double...
Lets say an easy 20kph moving avg, 1-1.5 hours of stops. 8am start from Dunwich (I know, early, but) gets us to London for around 6.30-7pm, away again 8.30 - 9, back for early breakfast.
Need to sort where to rest/eat in E.London, meet up with PH 1 wayers that isn't going to be rammed.
Curry ?!

Imperial for me, it's 112 miles despite the various claims of 120 (if you leave from soutwark and lap a few roundabouts you might just get away with that...), I've always left at 9 because reason and frankly we'll be faster than most and overtaking people is fun
Based on beer mat maths (fag packet maths is for non cycling types) 10 hours is loads to cruise back, which says to me 8AM is v. early, 10:30?
