It will be 100% road for me. Can't really justify shelling out for a mountain bike after just getting a new road bike.

100% mtb for me, though I have to do lots of road riding to get anywhere interesting off road around east Devon.

Pretty much 100% road for me currently. I got back into cycling a few years ago with a hardtail, but then decided to spruce up my old road bike and the off-road fell away. May get back into it in a few years when my lads are older and getting more adventurous, but it was last used to ride a lap of Silverstone with my eldest when they opened it up to local primary schools a few weeks ago...

I'm now 75%+ off road on various contraptions (FS, Rigid SS, CX). Hate traffic and a good mate very nearly died recently. Road riding's primarily for fitness now, and riding proper mountain roads which is just awesome still.

Silent flowing trails, hideous rocky climbs, max heart rate descents, dark forests, open wide vistas, the smell of earth and the sounds of wildlife vs. selfish drivers, roadside rubbish and the smell of diesel.

I call it CX, but it's not realy. Basically I ride a CX bike on anything and everything. Means I can just go out and ride without having to worry about what bike to take and where to go. Smooth Road, hills, single track, pot holed farm tracks, tow path, gravel lanes, bridle ways. Basically almost anything North Oxfordshire has to offer I'll ride without worrying. It lacks anything really hard, either off road or hill climes, but I have cycled across fields, down muddy tracks, on stuff that you would never want to touch on a true road bike, but also do the kind of fast, long road riding that would be annoying on a mountain bike. The ideal stuff for a CX bike, and kind of non competitive CX.

Previously it was 100% MTB but 5 months ago I got a road bike to help with fitness and generally for use when getting to trails was difficult, so now about 75% MTB/25% Road.

Enjoy both, but MTB will always be the main activity.

100% MTB.

Would like a go on a "proper" road bike just to experiences it but just don't fancy riding one round the roads where I live on a permanent basis.

Up until the beginning of this year I was 100% MTB doing around 2,500km per year off-road. Having foolishly agreed to do a 110 mile charity (road) ride this summer I decided to move to the dark side and so bought my first road bike.

TBH, I enjoy it more than I thought I would and did my first 100 miler last weekend but, ultimately, I prefer the MTB as it keeps you away from those idiot car drivers wink.

I've already clocked up 2,000km on the road bike this year in preparation for the ride in two weeks. It'll be interesting to see whether I maintain that rate in the second half of the year or whether there will be a 2014 Giant Defy on e-bay. Anyway, I went for 75% MTB!
