That's a big question... I have a ferry booking from Caen on Monday night.

I could:-
Cycle up there
Potentially get a lift
Get a train from Le Mans to Caen £20
Get a train part of the way and enjoy a shorter ride

I'm not set on any option yet, it's been very warm today and I'm not sure it would be so much fun in the blazing heat. Whilst I'm not in pain today I am a bit stiff and conscious that my legs are recovering. I guess I'll check the weather and see how I feel tomorrow.

Crumbs! Well done, Dave. That is quite an inspiration. I might ride to the pub later if the rain gives up.

I've booked a train, €27 including the bike. Another little adventure for tomorrow. There'll still be a few miles on the bike to get from the circuit to the station and at the other end a longer one getting to the port. I have blisters on my feet from all the walking round at the race.

A development... I'm going to get my first drive of a Porsche.

I've been asked to drive one home as a favour to someone!

Awesome and properly well deserved, have they had a little too much lubrication?

It gets better, I managed to wangle my way into the pitlane for the last seconds of the race and watched the end from the pit-wall.

I take it they'll refund you your €27 for the inconvenience?

Superb effort and top blagging :-)

You have to buy a lottery ticket this week.

How was the Porsche?
That needs a thread all on its own.

I got back home at 5am this morning... A long day but what a blast!

My bike is coming back over the channel, I'm not sure exactly who's bringing it because the ph staff are helpfully either bringing it back themselves or brokering a lift for it. Yet more sterling support from ph central!

Idiot gap - having met you out there, I 'properly' observed the routes as we returned, noting the inclines, trucks and so on to get a better feel for what you had done on the way down. That was a fantastic ride and, if I may say so, you looked none the worse for it.

Good for you - well done!

Kudos again for the inspirational idea, idiotgap, and for seeing it through in style. Very much enjoyed reading your updates and following your progress down.

So, everyone, when are we starting the list for 2016?
