The day I cycled to Le Mans...
Discussion
I'm thinking of a PH team event rather than a third party charity ride. Their causes can be very noble, but there's usually far too much nannying for my liking, plus bothering colleagues, friends and family for 'sponsorship' to go cycling when I cycle all the time already would feel more than a little off.

+1 to all thatAdditionally I'm putting my name on this list, in pen, I will do this ride hell or high-water next year if there's a PH group ride; it combines 2 of my 3 favourite things and my R/l friends don't appreciate either, which has prevented my from having a Le Mans weekend.
(the 3rd is my son but he's not old enough to watch me drink my weight in beer)

I can't commit to doing this again next year, I've burned through a lot of brownie points (I have 3 kids) and a chunk of cash at a time when I'm between jobs. I'm not saying I'm out, but just probably not in. I will however try and keep up with what's going on and try to make sure you guys get the benefit of my experience. I'll put some notes together as I remember things.
The charity ride is nothing to do with 24 Heures du Mans. It is the week before, so would not be suitable for us race goers anyway, as it would make it a c10 day trip.
If I go to Le Mans again next year, it will be in the car. Whilst idiotgap's last minute voyage of derring do was brilliant, as most last minute daft ideas are, I could think of better places to ride to than Le Mans.
Now if we are talking Alp d'Huez or Mont Ventoux? ;-)
