Good luck with your ride, but I reckon you'd get round quicker if you rode the sofa. smile

I wasn't really referencing the bags, fair enough. Mainly the bar angle and the saddle,, that would put me in a world of hurt!

handlebars pointing skyward and seat pointing at the ground is a "sportive setup"?

Its not conventional but there is no need for the forum wolves to demonstrate their elitism at every opportunity, it's getting boring

I concur, Mr pablo, sir.

Point out what you think is wrong? Definitely. Offer helpful suggestions about WHY you think it's wrong? Yes. Suggest useful advice on how to fix it to save him from a world of hurt on a century ride? Absobloomin'lutely. But openly mock a chap who's just proudly posted a picture of his bike in readiness for a 100 mile cycling event? Way to give any watching newbies a low opinion of PedalPowered, chaps! Perhaps the rider concerned has tried to ride with a more conventional set-up, but prefers things the way they are? The bars, shifters, and saddle positions make me shudder a little too, because I can't see any comfort in it that way, but please? This open ridicule won't help matters much.

Aw, it's just a little bit of gentle banter, PH style. I mean if his bike was set up seriously for a sportive, it would have Kendal Mint Cakes taped to the handlebars, and a packet of jammy dodgers hanging from the saddle. Not to mention water bottles placed strategically around the course. thumbup

Nearly there now!

Just got the bag to pack...don't know whether to send it up with the GF or put my sticker on it and have it meet me at the end?

Did forget to wash the sweatband though...

I don't think it's quite worthy of this catalogue of disasters : http://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic....

But the setup does look a bit odd, doesn't it ? If you need a saddle angle that extreme to feel comfortable, there's very likely something wrong with the bike fit. OTOH the event's tomorrow, so wishing tonker a great ride anyway !

Many of you wearing PH shirts?

It isn't conventional because its not correct, a saddle should be flat, I'm sure its rideable but it would be more comfortable and put less stress on back and arms (as you'll be supporting far too much weight with them) if it was.

Anyway, I'll let you think what you want.

We're at The Westbridge in Stratford... Pretty sure everyone staying here is riding tomorrow!

Will definitely book this place for next years ride. Recommended.
