I've decided to sell my mountain bike....an old Orange G3 with Rock Shox Recon forks. I had used it only a handful of times in the last 2 or evn 3 years with occasional use at Coed Y Brenin, Afan Argoed and places like. I had to have a brain tumour taken out in December which has had an impact on my balance. It has so, so much better than it was but progress has slowed significantly the lst 2-3 months and it would have to improve a LOT before I'd ever consider getting back out on the trails again.

Not sure why I'm posting this, it's not gone yet but have agreed a price with a friend of mine so it'll be going within a week or so.

I haven't used it at all this year but it'll still be a sad day when it goes. I've been all over the UK with it and had some great times.

Sorry to hear that pal, I think like you I'd miss the buzz of riding out.

Could there be scope for you to try those 4 wheeled mtb's in the future!! Looks like s right laugh!!

All the best Stu.

Oh Ross. So sorry. What sort of tumour? Is it gone definitely?

You should keep the bike as a motivation to recover if possible.

That's absolutely terrible, are you still receiving any rehabilitation help, have you asked about a long term outcome? If it is going to improve think of it as time to plan a new purchased and hit the trails on something fresh. Keep positive, it really can't be ready at the minute.

It was a 4th ventricular ependymoma and I was given the all clear last month. Just need annual scans now. There is a (very long!) thread on this in health matters.

Thanks everyone.... It's not quite early days any more but I am still very slowly improving. I've been out loads on the road bike and don't have too many issues on that but the way things are it would have to improve a lot before I'd consider doing proper trails again!

Still.... I cycled almost 700 miles in June!

I think I will sell it because it'll likely be a long time before I'd consider mountain biking again, by which time as you say, I could use the incentive to buy something new and shiny!

I realise I've lost lots of PH points by the N+1 rule hehe
