I don't think I'd ever describe this tour or any other GT as a precession

I really hope tomorrow isn't an anti climax. I hope everything including the kitchen sink is thrown at sky. Should make for great viewing.
Did Sky/Froome steal your lunch money?
No, just don't want to see a precession. I want to see great racing. I don't care who wins, just that they leave it all on the road.
Previously in the thread ....

It was a massacre, and basically has ruined the rest of the race. I dislike Froome.
Go on, admit it. He picked on you and stole your lunch money as suggested hehe
Yes, because I didn't want to see a procession. I would have said the same if it was Bertie, and I'm pretty sure I said the same about Nibbles last year. I want to see close racing, not one guy standing head and shoulders above others.

i want to see close racing too but the simple fact is contador already has a giro in his legs, nibbles took to long to find his form and froome has arrived in peak form and fitness. It' not thev fault of froome or sky that on this occasion they are simply better.

Mercedes will win the Hungarian GP tomorrow because they have the best car combined with the fastest drivers. It's the same principle.

Still AdH today and all the randomness that ensues, froome has concerns it could get messy given the fan's have been there for a week, let's just hope me tour is win by the best rider and not by the actions of a bitter and disgruntled spectator whose favourite isn't winning.

In other news, Landa to Sky, didn't see that one coming!... He outrode Aru in the giro so could be another gc contender in their line up....

Anyone explain why Valverde didn't attack Froome earlier on the slope, then when Froome dragged him back Quintana attacks, surely having 2 team mates they should use it as an advantage.

Someone saying maybe G saved himself for today, I think he's done - smashed himself for the last 3 weeks, he looked dead in the interview.

I don't think Movistar quite know what they want, they seem to be focused on keeping Valverde in 3rd whilst trying to place Quintana for a move on the yellow jersey.

Has to be one or the other and obviously targeting yellow should be the priority.

I'd agree G is cooked, he's given everything this tour, chapeau.

Actually how weak would you have to be for Froome to steal your lunch money with those arms?

If he had his bike nearby, he'd be bloody hard to catch once he's nabbed it though.... hehe

I might be proven wrong but I think much ado has been made of nothing about todays stage.

He still has nearly 3 mins advantage, even if he time trialled from the bottom without caring about anyone else there is no way anyone is going to be 3 mins quicker than one of the best climbers in the world.

I am joining dots and the team have had to reign him back in the past to stop him trying to win every stage, he said he rode within himself to limit loses yesterday, my prediction is that he will win todays stage and underline the last 3 weeks.

After all the crap he's had to deal with, I would love to see Froome win today, I don't think there is anyone bar Quintata who can beat him today. Pinot , Riblon et al will be struggling having rode hard for the last few days to bag a stage as I suspect they thought today would be the GC decider and they wouldn't be able to get in the mix.

Anyone who wants to shake up the top five needs to go on CdF though as Froome knows he can beast it up the final climb being a summit finish.

Lets just hope he has enough left in the tank. I agree though, a win would be a deserved conclusion to a beast of a TDF.

Fingers crossed for Froome today. I've been massively impressed. If he wins this, it'll be one of the hardest tour wins of recent years.

I was looking again at the Nibali incident on the highlights. I think he clocked that Froome was slowing on the first and maybe second look, but on the third glance over his shoulder he appears to be looking straight at his Astana team mate, positioned between him and Froome about three places back, and then he off he goes. If he was 30 secs behind Froome in the standings I could understand the anger. At over 8 mins back I don't think it's an issue.
