Other than a turbo session today and tomorrow (thanks to the weather) my year will end like this

Distance: 8654miles (According to Veloviewer's info graphic thats Buenos Aires to Anchorage (Alaska))
Time: 446hrs 28mins
Elevation: 392,917ft
Rides: 226

Probably could have topped 9000miles if it wasn't for illness in March which knocked me for six for 2/3 weeks, moving house in June and two crashes as well which slowed things down a bit.

Quite happy with my mileage as only started strava recording in June this year. Hoping for more than double in 2016 !

Not as much as last year. Missed some time in April due to illness and August holiday.
Not done much the past 2 weeks either. Was hoping for a few trips but the weather is appalling.

My son suffering a blast of norovirus meant I couldn't go out today, may try and escape for an hour or two tomorrow morning and get the additional 400-odd metres in...

Target achieved, although December has been a slack month due to weather conditions and various alcohol related activities.biggrin Will probably get 70 miles in tomorrow.

Probably end up being 9050 miles in total, less than I've done in the past, did more in my first year riding!

That "10x Up Everest" thing certainly puts into perspective just how hard an Everesting attempt would be. I was considering having a bash myself, but I'm not so sure now...

I find everesting incredibly dull, its just who has enough free time really, obviously you need to be in half decent shape but as things go its a measure of not a lot.

I have to agree, I think 'Everesting' is more of a measure of tenacity than fitness or ability. Mind you, I could just be saying that because it's not something that has ever appealed to me!

Hit my 100mile climbing target Christmas Eve. Mileage will remain slightly annoyingly just under 10k as I can't now ride today.

About half the mileage off road, mostly SS.

I'm done for 2015 too:

Though VeloViewer also includes my attempts at running in the totals on its graphic. Distance recorded cycling was 5,648km. A midfield performance.

Done my last ride for the year too, bit disappointed not to have cracked 8k km for the third year but a broken wrist in February cost me 5 weeks off the bike.

Can't really understand the active days part of the graphic, does that make any sense to anyone?

For you Everesting nay-sayers, I am as proud as fook of mine. And yes, it is about stubborn-ness and not quitting as much as anything. 12 of us did Boxhill as a team; it's a good one in many ways because the gradient is steady, the surface is beautiful and there are cafes at the top and bottom. I had hoped to do it in about 20 hours but it was 27 all told; the second quarter was agony when you still have more repeat climbs to do than you have done...
If I do another it will be a mountain one, I have my eyes on one in Italy that would be 4.25 repeats, not 67!

The number of days on which you rode (or, if you're a multi-sporter, undertook an activity).

And the dots are the days. Jan 1st is top left, then it goes across in rows to Dec 31st. Red was an activity day, grey was a rest day.

Chapeau indeed. So much of it off road, up and down the SDW on a singlespeed. Dickie's a machine!
