We managed around a dozen riders for this last year. An easy (2.5/5) rolling course out of Silverstone to wrap up the sportive season. The local Travelodge is currently £36 too. How many smileys can we muster this year?

Epic route for me but I can see us having riders in both distances.

Not sure I can do this this year as we might be going on holiday over the half term break.

Sure, why not. I need something to get me back training after Wedding/Honeymoon in September

Congrats. I'm also marrying and honeymooning in September. I just had 2-3 weeks off the bike with gluttonous travels and then properly broke myself on the stag do last weekend. 4kg heavier and dramatically less fit. Any form I had a month ago is a distant memory now. It's a race to regain something before Ride London!

I'd love to but I'm running the Bristol to Bath marathon that day, apparently....

Did last year enjoyed. Gruffy overtook meet 5 miles out and I did the shorter race. Good day. Mate crashed and was recovered only down side. Met a group of 4 other phers who were having puncture mares. Felt like a ph sportive. Rode round with another pher.

I'm hoping to get an entry into a duathlon that's on the same day. I know, I know, but at least there's no swimming involved.

I'll see you all at Silverstone if I don't make it into that. I'll know in about a month.

That was me I think, Mike - at least for a few miles.

I'm be up for it again. It's a nice route.

Cheers

Thanks, you too.

Whatever form I had in early June was lost within minutes of stepping off the plane in Italy a few weeks ago. If I can maintain to something similar to my current form by the end of October, I'll be pleased enough!

I'm tempted to come out for this one, not sure if it's altogether sensible as the start is a 2hr drive North but I do fancy a PH outing.

To those doing it, my advice is get to Silverstone early as the last couple of times I've done this, I've started at 8:30 ish and passed a stream of queuing cars still trying to get in and parked!

A bunch of us drove up from London the night before and stayed at the Travelodge for peanuts (£36 per room currently). It gave us the chance for a pasta social with other PHers the night before.

I'd echo this - last year's traffic flow in the circuit was awful! I wasn't caught in it as I was early but my brother took 45 mins to get from the main entrance to the circuit to the Wiggle parking area.

Sounds good, which is the pertinent Traveltavern? I'll dig out my 12inch plate.
