That was the exact bit of road I dished out some echelon pain on the rest of them, 21mph through there from cattle grid to cattle grid took over 500W. One bloke is still there, perished. Wind must have dropped a fair bit by the time you headed through looking at Strava.

Oh, and I got the KOM down Drift Road with a break away effort wink Just missed the KOM for the entire length annoyingly as was dicking around at the beginning.
Yes, I saw that, nice effort!

I think my fool hardiness has no been replaced with regret ,for riding in to work today. only a 13 mile commute but it will be 100% headwinds which are forcast at 20-40mph. could be a slow ride home tonight!

I'm in the same boat! but the forecast for my trip west tonight shows 40-60mph winds. Ace! 15 miles of hell

Ride in with the tailwind, train home then turbo at home - that's how you do it.

good idea, however the train takes 1hour 40mins, even with a headwind I can get home in under an hour.

the train station near my work seems to only be connected to Leicester.

I've left the bike in the bike shed already on the inner ring. It's the cross-winds that worry me though, particularly if it's coming in strong gusts. Not looking forward to this very much at all!

Impressive. We're not that far behind where I am, at nearly 14mph average over a 30 year period, and we get absolutely no protection, straight off the atlantic.

Yesterday was interesting.

20 mile commute

Into Central London 20.2mph 251w
Out of Central London 16.1mph 308w

For the most part the gusts seemed to hit me head on, so wasn't too worrying, but through Richmond Park I was grateful there were no cars, I got blown all over the place.

Beachy Head was a tad gusty last night! Crested the top of the climb by the pub at 34kph,then mental side wind gusts along the top followed by 60kmh along the seafront. (1sec off a road KOM grrr). All good fun but so glad not on deep dish wheels smile
