Was indeed - I'm still disappointed Tom D lost the lead and didn't even get on the podium. He looked truly devastated post race.

Solid effort from Aru and not sure what Valverde was doing yesterday but it certainly took its toll on him today.
It's been a long season for Valverde, winning Liege and Flèche riding the tour and winning a stage in the Vuelta he just ran out of legs!

Really crushing for Dumoulin, felt for him, has come so close basically without any help, as Giant-Alpecin are set up for Degenkolb.
Can't warm to Aru, not helped by him riding for Astana....

My exact same feelings! Devastated for him, but fair play for being in contention for so long.

Can't help but think Froome would have won by a considerable margin if he had stayed on his bike.

Dumoulin is a likeable chap for sure and I'd've been happy for him to win. He did really well for a TT rider with practically no team support

I agree.

Aru and the team he rides for do nothing for me.

Shame Dumoulin couldn't hold on until the end.
