What to do at/near the Forest of Dean for non riders?
Discussion
Afternoon all,
FIngers crossed, I have persuaded my beloved wife that we should detour via the Forest of Dean on the way from Somerset to Surrey on Sunday to allow middle Kermit junior to rack up a few more trail miles for charity.
To really clinch the deal, though, it would be helpful if I can point her, daughter (12) and youngest son (7) at something to keep them entertained for 2-3 hours whilst we're out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

There ia also Whitemead Forest Park, which is like a mini CentreParcs. You can get in for the day to use their pool, spa and other activities like archery and climbing wall etc. It's in Parkend. We often use it as a base for riding in the forest and nice to get back to a bit of civilisation and decent facilities. Kids love it too.
Be warned it can get quite busy on a BH weekend, especially round Symonds Yat. Much prefer to go when it's quieter.
Nice pub in the middle of the Forest though with local Freeminer brews on tap: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/The+Rising+Sun...
