Yesterday, Richard Bussell came out of basically nowhere to win the Men's National 10 Mile TT Championships. I've put together some words and pictures about him over the last week, for those who want to know a bit more about the man!

I believe Okgo was top 8 or something which deserves some kudos too but as 10 miles at 100% is basically the same as 20 miles at 50% effort, its not that special wink

I was actually 10th, crazy tight as usual (10 seconds between 10th and 5th!!) and I'm sure my fiddling with my visor that was steaming up in the rain probably cost me a couple of places, but I was pleased with the ride given it was a power best, means in better conditions I should be able to beat some course PB's etc going forward.

Storming ride from Richard, talented guy!

Amusingly he was riding one of my coaches old bikes, I think its a really early Trek TT bike.

Interesting brake levers on his bike. Can you actually use them from the horns or only when you are gripping the wings?

No TT bikes have brakes you can use from the extensions, all require you to be on the basebar, these are what he was using

What I meant by horns was the forward sticking out parts of the base bar. Not sure you could brake if you were gripping those?

But I guess you only need to slow a little bit for the roundabout, if that.

They're smaller than they look I think, its not so bad in practice, but in general the brakes on TT bikes are shocking as they've sacrificed function in favour of aero. The ones on my bike are woeful.
