Enjoyed that today. I did my usual warm up, then Sufferfest The Rookie (edited the intervals to match their own app....although there isn't a great deal of difference) and followed up with "Young". I wanted around 130-135TSS so when I realised I was a bit over that I cut out the last effort of Young as I didn't want to kill myself.

It hurt a reasonable amount but not horrendous. After the 1st 3min effort of Young I was wondering whether I'd be able to complete it (The Rookie is hard, but it's not THAT bad...but I was feeling it a bit), but I hung in there. Incidentally...I noticed that the 1st 3min effort is set at the wrong FTP....it's supposed to be 105% but was actually 107% or so I think, the other 3min efforts were at 105%.

I'm going to do probably 2 more weeks of harder training before a recovery week, I'm not sure whether to do another FTP test then, or wait and do it after the block of training after. Last test was in November so it's probably due, but it feels about right to be honest.

Legs goosed BECAUSE you've been using TR, probably hehe

Well done on the ride out. Weather not quite as nice as when I was fortunate enough to do my long ride of the week (Friday), but really rather mild, which makes a lovely change.

Ta, managed to experience all four seasons today, not as nice today as it was yesterday up here....

Need to do similar miles next weekend as it's the Mad March Hare the Sunday after....

I done a similar distance today, it was great to get outside and ride, rather than sat in the garage.

3x20mins sweetspot today. I was expecting the legs to feel pretty horrendous after yesterday but they didn't feel TOO bad, despite it being a pretty tough couple of sessions. 1st effort at a normal cadence, maybe 2-3rpm higher, 2nd effort at a low cadence (think I averaged around 75rpm or so) and the last effort back to normal cadence.

Went to do a sufferfest "mashup" video earlier but legs just didn't have the last bit in me. Kind of me regrets not trying harder...but I knew that last effort is 8mins long as has an intensity factor of 1.09.....

I started "mount foraker" and after the 1st interval i thought "this isn't gonna happen" but I kinda got into the groove and pulled through, though I reduced some of the interval intensity by just a few percent.

Done Garfield last night, its not too bad actually considering the intervals are at 100% FTP. Though the one where they want you to go 100+ cadence wasn't happening, stuck to around 90 to save any blowing up that might happen!

Fang Mountain and Bashfull for me this week - I managed one session last week, but otherwise this is my first time back on TR since May.

Tomorrow's 130km/1,600m ride to West Bay and back is going to sting a bit, I suspect.

Anyone offer a good TR workout for low-cadence climbing power? I climb okay as long as I can spin at 80rpm, but below that I'm rubbish.

Just do one of the sweetspot or threshold sessions at a low cadence. Depending on where you are perhaps something like tray mountain or spruce knob (for very long climbs).... Or perhaps something like centennial which is a bit more power but shorter reps.

Edit - Sufferfest Power Station is also a great climbing workout if you have the video.

2 hours....blimey! I'd perhaps start of with those mentioned and then build up to some of the other, longer sweetspot/threshold workouts. If you go into the workouts section of their website you can use the filter function to get workouts of a given duration, internsity etc....it's not the best filter in the world but it works well enough.

I did an edited version of a sufferfest video this morning. Their app version is something I've tried twice....and failed twice. I swear it's impossible....so I edited some of the intervals to make it a bit easier. Despite that the IF for the "bulk" of the ride was 1.00 for over 36mins so still not an easy ride. Then did "bear creek". Legs felt pretty good today. Weather very grey, dull and damp here today.

Want to do a long ride out tomorrow but the weather isn't looking promising.

Bit painful last night with 10 days off the bike. I went trampolining with my son yesterday morning, as bad as I felt at the TT session is nothing compared to how my back feels this morning! I was going to go and do Kaweah tonight but will save it for Tuesday. May then do the following weeks two session on Thursday night as I am on a stag do this weekend.

First drinking of the year (apart from 3 cans in Paris Disneyland last weekend), what could possibly go wrong!

It's the third of four categorized climbs on the Quebrantahuesos, after the Somport and the Marie Blanc and before the mercifully shorter Hoz de Jaca.

Brilliant event and at 200km/3,500m plenty taxing enough for the likes of me. A group of us did it last summer and are going back this year.

I'd love to do something like that!

Did 62 miles outside yesterday, and a tempo 24 miles back from work today (God only knows how, but I missed the rain some how!) at an intensity of 0.85....so a good amount of sweetspot and tempo in there!

51 miles yesterday in 40+ mph winds felt like 100 miles!

Did Slide Mountain tonight as a recovery ride, all done.

Doing Mad March Hare on Sunday, 73 miles, hoping the weather improves....
