So long as it's an area separate from the Blue and Red trails, and not within one of the loops, I'll be happy.
It is - its a dedicated "freeride" area, that you have to deliberately go to - its not part of the blue/red loop. Certainly makes sense having it closer to the emergency services access points.Obviously will necessitate a rerouting of the existing start to blue, but thats no biggie.

It's probably deliberate in order to put the jumps closer to the ambulance access point...
So long as it's an area separate from the Blue and Red trails, and not within one of the loops, I'll be happy. I'd like to be able to take a trip up there confident that I'll be able to complete a lap or two without having to make a death-defying jump over the "jaws of death". I was more than happy to get my breath back while watching the young'uns smash themselves to bits all over the old jump gully, but I've got no interest in partaking in that element of MTBing.
They are rerouting blues 1 and 2 to make these runs separate from the blue route. So long as it's an area separate from the Blue and Red trails, and not within one of the loops, I'll be happy. I recognise that man with the woolly hat as Colin, who I used to ride with. I can understand his involvement in the build of the new section. He hand made labyrinth in secret.
AKA "Jesus" He now works for the Crown Estate, but his salary paid for by Trail Team Swinley i believe, and works fulltime building and maintaining the trails. Sometimes i think "i wish i had his job" and then othertimes i look out the window and think "im glad im inside today!"

Labyrinth is completely unique in my experience! I hated it the first time I rode it, but have liked it more and more every time I've ridden it since, to the point that it's now one of my favourite parts of the whole place. I'll come along for this if I can get wifely dispensation. I don't suppose anyone else is bringing kids with them, are they? My 10yr old has ridden the full loop on a number of occasions without problems if anyone else is considering it.
Just to correct the OP though, there is currently no café at Swinley. The people who used to run it retired, and although they intend to open one up again, the council haven't apparently decided whether to rent it out or run it themselves. I suppose either way they're probably thinking midwinter probably isn't the best time to open up again somewhere like Swinley, even with the science bit.
