Yay!
That said, if you have mudguards, might be worth bringing them. The trails are well drained so should be in good condition, but the connecting fireroads can be mucky, and while a bit of mud never hurt anyone, Swinley uses the dreaded "ginger" as trail coverings and it does tend to stain clothes.
I absolutely ruined a pair of Versace mountain bike shorts and a D&G jersey in one ride.
I know the feeling about the soil. Left a dirty mark up the back of my mankini , just where I sit ............ Sure it was the soil........ ;-)That said, if you have mudguards, might be worth bringing them. Coming with jr, bought new hardtails a year ago and ridden them all of 4 times, we'll be at the back.
How old is Junior? I was contemplating bringing my 10yr old, but thinking the full loop would be a bit much to expect him to do at adult pace (although he has done it several times), but if there are other kids there, I might see if he fancies it.Kermit power said:

14, bring him they'll likely keep us both honest for pace.Justin S said:

I'll be there, got a nice new set of 26" wheels on the 456 to test out.
Will potentially be on my C456, as singlespeed is becoming further out of favour.Max_Torque said:
I WON'T be on my c456 because my back is currently buggered! So i'll be on my nice plush totally-too-much-bike-for-swinley 160mm full susser! ;-)
I shall be joining you on my also too much for Swinley 150mm Stumpjumper. My 115mm steel hardtail would be better in every way except for the tyres. The Maxxis Ardent is a superb rear mud tyre if you want to pedal furiously whilst remaining in exactly the same place!

I went up earlier this evening.
It's looking OK, the trail (Blue at least) is running nicely, but boy was it hard work! First MTB ride since February last year!!!!
I shall be borrowing my son's white GT Avalanche. And occupying the cheap seats when it comes to pace, judging by how I felt after one crack at Blue. I'll try to wear a PH shirt of some description too.
Having said all that, I'm notoriously unreliable with timings. So if I'm not there by the time you are all met up and ready to roll, then roll out without me. I'm working on 10am as the start time, unless anything has changed...
