I hope this doesn't happen. Wiggle are usually fast and efficient. CRC have just sent me some spokes that I ordered.....that have quite clearly been used to lace up a wheel before. Totally unacceptable. Wiggle would do well to stay well away, the consumer can only suffer. CRC are a PITA when things don't go right. (Although that's ok I wont be using them again after this)

Why did i use them? Wiggle don't sell spokes and LBS round me have a 'couldn't care less' attitude with regards to orders that arent a big ticket item.

I was looking forward to some new wheels to use as well next time its dry.
Cheaper to buy spokes (and many other products) form Germany, bike24 are fast becoming my go to online retailer for thing I don't need next day but will reliably turn up in three.

I've had a similar issue with CRC, a set of Hope pedals, where the pins had been screwed in where they shouldn't have been, then probably returned. So they just sent them back out again.

CRC did replace them, but I do wonder if the returned ones just went back on the shelf and sold to someone else.

I have only had good experiences with both retailers. Wiggle accept returns quickly and easily and they're quick to dispatch.
I bought a KMC chain from CRC a week ago. Unfortunately one of the quick links was missing. I contacted them and the next working day they sent me out a pack of 2 pairs! I'd have been happy with one side!

Hard to use the LBS when stuff like that is quick to arrive and far cheaper than it is in the shops. I'll buy bikes or clothing that I've not tried from the LBS but as I self service, I have little call for them.

All going to plan... It needed £10m in loan notes from Bridgepoint to get through 2018 (after needing £17.5m to get through 2017)

And, on the turnover of £345m giving a £96.7m gross profit, it turned in a £1.4m operating loss that washed through to an overall £36m loss

Does anyone know what the 616 staff there do? Particulary the 49 new ones that joined since last year..

It just makes me scratch my head and wonder why they bother

I've bought a few things from CRC and Wiggle in the past year and never had an issue - even returning stuff is straight-forward and no issue and I live in Portugal.

I support my local physical shop mostly, bought 2 MTB's from them this year and sundries etc. But I did take advantage of one of CRC's larger discounts on a new road bike recently after shopping around. Bike24 got my pedals order though for the bike.

I have always found CRC fast and efficient with some real bargains. Have had to return the odd thing due to not fitting but they have been great there as well.
What I have noticed is they dont beat you about the head with constant emails to shop and remind you of the latest deals even though they have your details.
Meanwhile ebay and amazon bombard you day and night about that one off flippin thing you got expecting you to want more.
CRC are probably too nice or just sticking to the rules.

I always preferred CRC and used them a lot; I remember the days of the massive ads in the bike mags and having to ring up to place an order with free postage that was invariably with you the next day.

They were also super helpful after all of my bikes were nicked. Just before the scumbags liberated me of my bikes, I’d bought some new forks that were missing something. The customer service guys were trying to track down a replacement. By the time they phoned through to say it was sorted my bikes were gone so I told the chap not to bother. We got talking and I explained I was waiting for my insurance pay out etc. He popped me on hold and came back to say that they’d do an extra 10% off anything I ordered. Needless to say that they got a big old order once the cash landed. I didn’t realise just how big CRC were until I was in Belfast with work a while back and drove passed the old warehouse...bloody massive.

Wiggle in the past were a pain; wrong items posted which took ages to sort, not being able to actually talk to a person, slower to post stuff out etc.

The only good thing for me now is that the warehouse/distribution centre isn’t a million miles away. Sone stuff comes through crazy fast...I ordered a pair of forks the Christmas before last on Boxing Day. Day after and they were delivered.
