Bioracer work on an order value per design. As long as an order for a design exceeds £840 (£700 ex-VAT) there are no small order charges, and we just pay the per item cost for everything ordered (which can be anything from their range applicable to the design).

No promises just yet, but here's how I'd like to do this:

I'll make available a price list and we'll have four ongoing waiting lists. Road (white), Inverted Road (black), MTB (white) and Inverted MTB (black). I'll ask people to put down the item(s) they want and we'll keep a running total for each list. Whenever a list gets above the £840 threshold I'll ask everyone on that list to pay up so I can put an order in. Anyone else will have a couple of days to jump in, then I'll put an order in for the design, and we'll start the list for that design afresh.

Lead times are quoted as eight weeks but I know people will be keen to get their kit asap in time for the summer, so by jumping in as soon as we have enough we'll get the kit to the early birds as soon as we can. By having ongoing lists any subsequent newcomers to the forum, or infrequent visitors who miss the first order, will still be able to get kit by joining the waiting list for the next order.

The design order value thresholds are independent of each other, and I'd put the orders for each design in independently of each other. Whenever that design reached its threshold.
(Sorry for quoting myself, but quicker than retyping again). Just waiting on prices and artwork to start the lists. It's a busy time of year for them but I'm around on Monday and will give them a call..

Have you got any quotes from british manufactures? And what's the price of S/s Jerseys and bibshorts?

I went through a very lengthy process of reviewing almost all of the suppliers last year. We're a broad church of pedalists so the initial shortlist was limited to suppliers who can offer products for all of our varied requirements. That means stuff that works for roadies, MTB and BMX. Stuff that fits racing snakes and powerfully built company directors. Kit that suits those on a budget and those who spare no expense in pursuit of marginal gains.

Of those, BioRacer produce what I believe (and verified by many other PHers) to be the best quality kit. They also happen to have competitive prices and a pricing structure that works very well for disparate kit preferences.

Having managed the process twice now and gone through that exhaustive research process I can tell you it's considerably more work than you might think. I'm grateful that SPB is taking it on on our behalf. I don't think he needs that can of worms opened up any wider.

Gruffy went through a big price/quality evaluation effort last time and selected Bioracer. As per my previous posts, we are very time limited this time around, last year's kit was well received and they already have our artwork, so we're going with Bioracer again. This is not a "let's start again from scratch" exercise, this is a "people want jerseys for the summer, let's get this done" exercise.

Re prices, as per the quote above, I'm just waiting on those.

Thanks for that,But Lusso in Manchester have been doing team kit for 30 years and they win plenty test reviews! Its just nice to buy British.

There are many reasons why Lusso doesn't work as well for us as Bioracer does:

  • They're more expensive
  • They don't offer MTB/BMX apparel
  • Their minimums policy is not as flexible
  • Their range is not as wide
  • Existing (and happy) relationship with Bioracer
  • Established familiarity with Bioracer sizing
I'd always love to buy locally where possible but that's trying to push a square peg through a round hole.

Looking through your posting history I notice your last post was back in December, and that was pushing Lusso too. I don't know if you're connected or just a super-fan but, for what it's worth, I have two pairs of Lusso bibs and they are awful. Both went baggy inside a month and I came out in a sweat rash whenever I wore them. But, even if they weren't absolutely terrible, the decision has been made to go with Bioracer for all the reasons already stated. It's not open to debate.

I for one am very grateful for your work..... And love the fact it's not open to debate because it means we'll get things sorted faster and we all get what we want earlier.

Many thanks

NP. Last year I believe people went for the "52155 BIBSHORT RACE PROVEN 2.0 LYCRA" with an upgraded pad, but they have different sorts and you'll be able to pick whichever you want.

The Bioracer UK agent has been out of the office this week so I've not been able to get the latest prices yet. As soon as I have those, I'll open up the lists for people to put down what they want.

The Pixel variants of stuff is great if you plan to commute or otherwise ride in the dark. It turns the leg/sleeve cuffs and the back pockets into very effective reflective material, which can still be printed with our artwork. On those panels it's a little heavier than the standard material so there's probably some compromise in breathability but I'd recommend it depending on how and where you're riding. It's good stuff.

I've now got 2016 prices from Bioracer. They took a few days to get them to me but turns out that was because they wanted to give us a little discount this year, and needed to square that away first. Worth the wait! smile

I've started a new thread for the order. That will allow me be notified of updates and also mean I can put all the important info into post 1, which hopefully people will read before posting.

The thread is here 2016 PH Kit Order

See you there smile
