Asking for a friend, are they worth a go? I'm slightly confused as they look like track wheels to my eyes, does anyone use them on the road?

very much track wheels, fine if he is a wealthy hipster looking to impress the coffee snobs on his fixie, useless if he has a bike with brakes....

Cheers, it is for a single speed actually, I think he just got tempted by the 'are you sure they aren't stolen' price he could have a set for. I will pass this one.

I dunno, I know sod all about track cycling. A set of wheels you can only use for one very very specific purpose sounds a bit stupid to me, but there you go, each to their own.

120mm dropout spacing, tubular, no brake track, heavy and stiff.

Very track focused wheels. Pretty much useless outside of a track.
