I dropped my daughter of at Gatwick this morning & popped into their main office warehouse place.
Their bikes seemed so overpriced, i can't believe people were actually parting with their hard earned for bikes with average group sets for such high prices.
I really don't know why i keep popping in there .

yup, without then I would have bought the Norco Search Alloy Tiagra, published sizes and geometry says it should suit metest ride some set up changed, newp, does not suit me, money and time saved.
What bugs me but i'm sure all the other big bike firms are the same is that i'm in their main head office warehouse & they are selling SPD CL cleats on the shelf for £19.99, yet if i buy them on line or click & collect i can get them of £12.49

They have a huge catalogue of parts. Once ordered, stuff arrives in store quickly and reliably. They takes stuff back with minimal fuss. Very convenient. Plus you can get help from a mechanic with making choices when ordering. I've just built up a bike from a £75 SAB carbon frame bought at the Planet X warehouse sale. Evans Birmingham helped me match headset, frame and forks and make choices on crank sizes and gear ratios. Shimano 105 group set at £300 with, specifically, 25-32 cassette (that's almost mountain bike granny cog), ordered on Thursday arrives Friday. That's pretty good service.
Evans are wonderful if you use them properly!
I spent a couple of hours one Friday evening speccing components for a Hardtail I was building - Groupset, dropper post, bars, saddle, pretty much everything except the frame, fork & wheels - and finding the cheapest price for each individual component from all the stores they price match.
Popped into the Gatwick warehouse with the web pages all printed out, monopolised one of their checkout staff for half an hour, and left with everything at the lowest possible price, without having to worry about who I was ordering from, saved around £350 off list price, and was riding the bike by Sunday afternoon.
On a smaller scale, they're handy to have at a 5 minute walk from the office, so I can quickly check the price of anything I need on CRC or wherever, then check their stock, and if they've got it in store, collect at the low price all in my lunch break.

I'm sure they are fantastic really. i just looked at some of the bikes priced at well over A bag of sand & thought , crikey thats a lot for a Tiagra group set.
I spent a grand (albeit via C2W) on a bike with Sora. But then I don't judge value on how blingy a groupset I can get for the money.

Joking aside, even if you could get a dura ace component on a £1500 bike, there would be so many other cost saving measures across the bike that it would be horrific to ride, either cheap noodley carbon or pig iron steel, then laden with cheap wheels, unbranded finishing kit, all so you can sit at the cake stop with your dura ace front mech proudly on display. Although I tend not to buy off the peg bikes, groupset is certainly behind frameset on my list of priorities.
